Ch 62: The First Blow

It was weird. Hak Taesung was someone I despiced months ago. Someone I wished to kill with my own two hands, but right now. Those feelings of hatred disappeared. 

Ever since I have been in contact with Jooha, she tells me about her days. They are peaceful; he treats her with kindness. Even to this day, Jooha tells me he didn't feed on her even once. We are not sure if it's because she reminds him of his diseased wife, but even so. I'm grateful.....That at least Jooha is being kept safe and hidden away from all this madness. 

We were assembled on the 13th floor; all the upper rank agents were present in the room as Mr. Lee was going to the final points of our infiltration in 2 days. 

Today is a busy today.

I could tell once I entered the building, it was buzzing with agents preparing for the big mission we had coming. That and the several other cases that were running right now. The whole building was a big mess. 

Once this is over, things will become less choatic, I hope.

''Are you nervous?'' Jungkook slightly bumped my side with his snapping me out of my daze.

I'm not even paying attention.

"Sorry, I'm just distracted by my thoughts.'' 

If Doyun was here, It would make things more... reassuring. 

"Hey, you will do great, okay? Don't worry, I have seen you train and train with you. You are more capable of things than you think. Just trust in the powers that were given to you.'' Feeling his hand slip in mine slightly squeezing, it did set off a feeling of relief. 

He is right......I have trained days and nights for this moment. I should believe more in myself. I won't be a hindrance to others; I'll properly be able to help this time. With my own strength. 

But why do I feel so anxious? 

''Deon, the individual that we caught not too long ago, is undergoing an interview as we speak. He wanted to talk with us, Mr. Min is leading the conversation. Hopefully, he changed his mind and is willing to leak more information to us.''

Why the sudden change of heart? Just because he got caught?

"According to our past investigation, this is a blueprint of the building that the auction will be held. It's being held in a separate bunker underneath the building. As you can see, it has a lot of hallways and many rooms. We suspect the main auction will be held here.'' 

Mr. Lee, his finger placed itself on what was seen as the largest space on the blueprint.

''We are not sure whether some rooms will lead to an escape route or not, so we will be having everyone divide into groups of 5 investigating every room during the infiltration.'' 

That's when I noticed Mr. Lee his finger twitch for a moment as he stopped talking. His head turned, and as he did, our eyes met. 

W-What is this?

My body froze up while I felt the air around me starting to suffocate me. It was like a sudden heavy feeling tugging on my body, trying to push me down. 

What is with this feeling?

I noticed that I wasn't the only one feeling like this. Jungkook, his hand wrapped around my wrist tightly. My head didn't allow me to look at his expression right now. 

My eyes noticed Hak Taesung take a couple of steps back, backing away from Mr. Lee

''R-R....'' What is Mr. Lee is trying to say.
