Chapter 28 - Girls day / Boys day

- late March-

*Charlotte pov*

Since it's Saturday we had breakfast at around 10 and as we were eating Tom told Ellie and I to get ready to go out, I asked him to do what but he didn't answer.
So right now I'm putting my shoes on and Ellie is fixing her hair.
"Tom come on...tell me...please?" I say giving him puppy eyes
"No, but they are about to be here so you don't have to wait much longer to find out what you girls will be doing today"
"What did you do?" As soon as I finish the sentence the door bell rings
"Go open the door love" he tells me

"Ready for a girls day out?" Scarlett says
"Oh hi! It's nice to see you!" I say and then hug her, then I notice there's another woman behind her as Tom approaches us
"I may or may not knew that Scarlett was in town so I called her to take you and Ellie out for the day, and also this is Hayley Atwell, aka Agent Carter"
"It's very nice to meet you Charlotte"
"My pleasure Hayley" I say as we hug
"I think Ellie is ready" Tom says as Ellie's head appears near his arm
"Hi!" She says
"Ill let you girls go, have fun, buy some clothes and don't forget to eat!" Tom says
"Ready girls?" Hayley asks
Ellie nods her head and hugs Tom before stepping outside
"Thank you, I love you!" I tell Tom "bye Alex!" I shout
"Bye mommy have fun!" He shouts from the living room
"Love you too, now go and have some fun!" Tom says giving me one last kiss

"So...a little bird told us that you will be coming at the Avengers premiere" Scarlett says
"Yep!"
"We need to find a dress for you, that's the mission of the day" Hayley says
"I can't wait to watch all the interviews mom!"
"The kids won't be coming?" Scarlett asks
"No, they chose to stay at home with Diana"
"But next time we will be there" Ellie says
After driving for about 20 minutes Hayley stops the car and tells us that there are e few boutiques around here that we really should check out.

In the first shop I don't find anything for me but Ellie found a cute little dress so I bought it for her.

The second one was a flop since after trying four or five dresses I still haven't found one I liked.
"Trust me, this is the one" Hayley says pointing at the third boutique
We walk in and we are welcomed by a girl named Sharon, she shows us around and asks if we have something particular in mind. I tell her my preferences and she picks three dresses.
I go in the changing room and decide to try the red one first, then I walk out.
The girls look at me and tell me to twirl so they can see the whole dress
"Mom, you look beautiful"
"Aww, thank you baby!"
"You know, if you walk on the red carpet with that dress, you will steal the scene. So I say get this one!" Scarlett says and Hayley agrees
A long red dress with long sleeves and a hole in the back.
As I reach for my wallet Hayley hands me some cash
"Uhm..."
"Tom gave this to me, he'll pay for the dress"
"I should have imagined..." I say taking the money from her.

As we walk out we realize it's lunch time so we walk to a nearby restaurant.
Hayley and Scarlett decide to order a glass of wine for the three of us to celebrate the engagement, since we haven't seen each other after it happened.
"That ring is amazing! Oh and by the way I received the 'save the date' the other day!" Scarlett says and Hayley tells us she received her as well.
"Really? Good!"
After talking a bit more and taking some pictures we take a walk in the park and then decide to go home.

- in the mean time at home -

*Tom pov*

As the girls are out Alex and I will have a fun father and son day.
"What do you want to do baby?" I ask him
"A pic nic!"
"That sounds fun, and I think I know the place!"
"Where daddy, where?" He asks excitedly
"It's a very beautiful place about an hour and a half from here"
"But where?"
"So curious uh! It's Brighton beach, your mum and I went once"
"Yay! Can we make our own sandwiches?"
"Of course we can! Come here!" I say picking him up and seating him on the kitchen counter.
I take out the sandwich bread, ham, cheese, mayonnaise and a few vegetables
"What do you want in it?"
"Uhm...ham cheese Mayo and tomatoes" he says
I make his sandwich then I proceed to make mine: ham cheese mayonnaise salad and tomatoes.
I also pack some fruit, bottles of water and others snacks.
An hour later we are in the car driving to the beach, after a bit as I look in the rear view mirror I found Alex peacefully sleeping.
When we arrive I wake him up gently and let him out of the car.
"Alright, why don't you put down the towels and I get the food ready?"
He puts the towels on the sand and makes sure there are no wrinkles, such a precise kid!
"This tastes good dad" he says after taking the first bite
"Good!"

We finish our lunch and decide to play a bit with the sand and make a sandcastle.
"Do you want to feel the water?"
"Okay..." he says a bit unsure
"Just on your feet" I say rolling up both of our trousers
"It's cold!" He says running away
"Alright, come up here" I say lifting him on my shoulders, we walk a bit up and down the beach and when he sees a guy taking some pictures he points at him as the guy looks at us
"Can you take a photo of me and my daddy?" He asks nicely
"Sure!"
I hand him my phone and turn with my back at the guy and us facing the water
"I took a couple, hope they are good"
I look to the photos and thank the guy, then we decide it's best to leave if we want to be home when the girls come back.

*no one pov*
The four of them arrive home at the same moment and after saying goodbye and thanking Scarlett and Hayley the enter their home.
Over the home cooked dinner they share their stories from the day and want him a Disney movie together.
