Chapter 57 - Romantic getaway?

*Tom pov*

The day after Christmas we woke up at ten and as the kids play Charlotte and I are on the sofa reading.
She's reading a romance and makes little comments as she reads, I think it's too cute.
"So...found out where she's going?" I ask her about the protagonist of the book
"Mhmh, Paris" she says still looking at the page
"Paris..." I say getting up
"Nooo, come back here I was comfy!"
"I'll be right back!" I say walking into my study, grabbing my computer and going back to her.
I open my computer and wait for the screen to turn on, she puts her head back where it was and continues to read.
I quickly open the safari page and do my research, after 10 minutes I move a bit making Charlotte sit upright, I kiss her head and she smiles
"Here" I say turning the computer to her
She scans the screen and gives me a look
"Should I click here and book tickets?"
"Are you serious?"
"Positive! Just like last year, the two of us on a little trip, most like the last big one before the twins arrive"
"I'm very interested in this idea of yours"
"Oh yeah?"
She nods and leans in for a long kiss
"Mmm" I hum
We part and I click on the link, getting out plane tickets.
Later after lunch we booked hotel too and I called my mother.

"Hello"
"Hi mum, how are you?"
"All good, you my boy?"
"I'm good, Charlotte and the kids too"
"Very great! You are still coming for new year right?"
"Of course we are mum! I called you to know how you are doing and if you can have the kids for a few days after new year"
"I'd love to! What are the two of you doing?"
"I'm taking her to Paris, we have a plane booked for the seventh and coming back on the tenth"
"Wonderful idea! I'll take care of the children don't worry, now let me go I need to go grocery shopping"
Sure, thanks mum. Love you!"
"Love you too, say hi to everyone"

I end the call and go find Charlotte and tell her that she'll take the kids.
After the little talk she sits on the bed and puts her arms out for me. I reach her and stand in front of her, bringing her into a hug
"Are you ok love?"
"Yes, I love you so much" she says in my shirt
"I love you too" I say bending down to kiss her head
We stay like that for a bit when I hear her sniffle
I don't say anything, just pick her up and walk into the bathroom and sit her on the sink counter. I take her chin between my fingers and make her look up at me, I give her a sweet smile and kiss her lips softly as I wipe away a little tear. I then take a step and open the bath faucet letting warm water fill it, I put in some lavender scented soap and mix it up a bit creating bubbles
"What are you doing?"she asks still sitting where I put her
"Running a bath for my love"
I stop the water and get near her again
"Lift your arms"
She does and I take her sweater off, then her bra. She slips off her sweatpants along with her underwear and I help her in the tub
"Do you need anything darling?"
"Only you"
I smile at her and tell her I'll be right back.
I go downstairs where I find the kids in front of the tv
"Mum and I are upstairs resting ok?"
Ellie stops the movie and they both look back at me
"Ok" Alex says
"Is she ok?"
"Yes, just a bit tired"
"See you later, we won't make noise"
"Thank you princess, have fun"

I make my way back upstairs in the bathroom and loose my clothes, she makes space for me in the tub, I take my place behind her and hug her placing my hands on her belly.
We cuddle in silence for some time then she turns her head an kiss me
"Thank you"
"You don't have to thank me love. Do you want to tell me why you were crying?" I say caressing her damp hair softly
"I don't really know...I guess just because of the hormones"
"Mmm...you sure, nothing else bothering you?"
"No, just that I promise"
"Good"
We wash our bodies and wrap ourselves into our robes. She sit on her vanity chair and I grab the hair dryer
"I can do that babe" she say
"No...I'll do it. Relax"
I start to dry and comb her hair, once I'm all done I make her wear one of my sweaters and her underwear, I put some pants on and we slip under the duvet snuggling up.

She fall asleep after a few minutes and I take my time to answer some text and like some post on Instagram also posting my own

We end the relaxing day with pizza and a nice movie that the kids chose.

I'm so sorry for not posting yesterday I just had lots of things to do and I really really hope to keep posting every other day during this week and I just want to wish you a happy weekend and please bear with me if I don't post every other day...
