First week of summer vacation started today! We have nothing planned for this week we just want to relax and enjoy family time. The twins are now 2 months old, Ellie and Alex can't stop playing and caring for them, Tom and I are so happy about it. We've been thinking about going in the US for a little trip in a month or so and maybe Italy. Right now I'm making sandwiches as Tom organizes the beverages for a picnic in the park. "Kids are you dressed?" He asks Positive answers come from both Ellie and Alex , so we know nice we are done with the lunch we can head to the park. After ten minutes or so everything was ready so we put the twins in their stroller, grab the two bags and head out. I push the stroller , with Alex help as usual, while Tom and Ellie carry the bags and we make the not so long walk from our house to the park.
"What about here?" Alex says after running ahead of us "I think it's perfect!" Tom says kissing his head after settling down the bag. They set the big towel on the grass and start to take out our lunch, the twins have eaten already and are currently taking a nap. "Tomato and ham sandwiches for Ellie, ham and cheese for Alex" I say "Thank you mommy!" They both exclaim "Tomato ham and cheese for you and I" I say handing one to Tom "Can we go play frisbee now?" Alex asks "Yes you can, just don't go too far" Tom says They stand up and walk away from us reaching the big grass under the trees Tom and I, after putting everything away, settle back down: him with his back on the tree and I with mine leaning on his chest. "Look at this" I tell him "I never imagined I could have all this one day" "Me neither love, but I'm glad my dream came true" he says kissing my cheek lovingly, but our sweet moment is interrupted by both babies crying. I take Lukas, a perfect mama's boy and Tom takes Kate a perfect daddy's girl. We held them close for a minute to make them calm down and then we sit them in between our legs so that they can see each other and give them their little toys. We watch them play with big smiles on our faces and occasionally look over our eldest kids.
"Oh shoot it's raining!" Tom says at three o clock as we were laying down cuddling the kids "Oh come on! Let's put the twins in the stroller and cover them up" We carefully lay them back as we call Ellie and Alex to come over and help us. They put away the baskets and try to cover themselves with the large towel that was laying in the grass. Once the twins were good we started to walk fast towards our house, trying to avoid too much rain. "It's cold!" Ellie says "I know, we are almost there" I say The temperature dropped quite quickly, luckily at least we had some warmer clothes for the twins. Once home, we told the kids to strip down and and leave their clothes in the hallway, when even the twins were inside Tom took my hand and brought be outside again "What are you doing?" "Dance with me! We are drenched anyway!" "You are crazy!" I shout to him "Maybe, but you still love me" he says smirking "That I do!" We slow dance for about five minutes and I'm sure our little rascals have taken pictures of us... As if on cue we hear them say "perfect picture!" We turn to them and they run in again, still in only their underwear "Go take a warm shower!" I tell them "We should go too..." Tom says shivering "Yeah...the twins are sleeping so we have some time" We go upstairs and I fill the tub for me as Tom takes a simple shower "I thought it was summer..." I say as I slip in the warm water "Eheheh...London weather darling..." he says from the shower
After everyone got done with their warm shower/bath we all went down in the living room and turned the tv on. The babies swinging in their baby swings slowly falling asleep again after I fed them. Tom half lays on the couch, me on his left with Alex near me. "We were waiting for you baby to choose a movie" I say to Ellie as she enters the room "I'm here now, but I'm cold" she says "Come here darling" Tom says, letting her lay on top of him and then drapes a little blanket over them. Once the movies was chosen it only took 20 minutes for Ellie and Tom to fall asleep. I only hope they won't catch a cold!
