Chapter 81 - Diana saves the day and sick snuggles

*Charlotte pov*

Ding dong

I open the door and find a smiling Diana looking at me
"Hello darling" she says hugging me
"Hi and thank you so much"
"Oh don't even say that, I'm more than happy to spend some time with the babies"
"I've put everything you might need in this bag, the twins are fed already and won't need it in another couple of hours"
"Good, how are my dear Ellie and Tom?"
"Still asleep lucky, I think their fever got down a bit"
"Keep me updated"
"Sure!"
"Hi grandma!" Alex says and hug her
"Hi my lovely boy" she says giving him little kisses on his cheeks "be a good helper for you mummy ok? So that your sister and your daddy will feel better soon"
"I will"
"Ok, I'll help you get the twins in the car" I say, fortunately Diana has two baby car seats in her car so it'll save us some time
"All done! Talk to you later yes?" Diana asks
"Of course and thank you again, for anything call me" I say closing her car door and wave them goodbye.
Once back in the house I tell Alex to clean up the toys from the living room as I go upstairs to check on Tom and Ellie.
They are both still hugged to each other and sleeping. I'd like them to sleep a bit more but I need to take their temperature and to give them some medicine.
I gently stroke Tom's cheek and he stirs awake, not letting go of Ellie.
"Hi babe"
"Mhm...hi"
"How do you feel?"
"My stomach doesn't hurt anymore...I think..."
"Can you wake up Ellie as I go take your medicine and the thermometer?"
"Yes" he says slowly sitting on the bed
It takes me a couple of minutes to find the things I need and when I'm back Ellie is awake and talking to Tom
"Hi baby girl"
"Hi mom"
"Douse your tummy still hurts?"
"No...I feel better"
"You both have stuffy noses" I say giving them their tablets and a glass of water
"Thanks" Tom says
"You temperatures are lower. Ellie 96 and Tom 97"
"Better then the 101 of last night" he says
"Definitely! Do you feel like eating something or drink?"
"Mhm" Ellie says
"What about tea and some plain cookies?"
"Sounds wonderful, thank you darling"
I leave the two upstairs and ask Alex to help me make Ellie and Tom's breakfast.

*Tom pov*

Ellie and I are still both in bed, snuggling and try to pass time that is going very very slow...being sick is no fun but at least I have her.
"What should we do?"
"Movie?" She says
"See...that's a great idea! Let's have some breakfast first. In the meantime time think about a film you want to watch"
"Ok..." she says starting to drink her tea and chat gives me mine as well
"I'll let you rest up here, see you later"
"Bye"

Let's hope yea and medicine work their magic!
After eating a couple of plain biscuits and drinking most of the tea we switch on the tv and choose a movie.
"Oh! The beauty and the beast!" Ellie says
"Ok!" I say clicking on it
We settle back down, our heads propped up a bit and enjoy the movie, singing along some songs as always.
"I love the scene when they dance" Ellie says
"That's one of my favorite scenes too, so elegant and romantic"
"Yep"

The movie ends and we sit with our leg crossed on the bed in front of each other.
"So...when are we going on vacation?"
"We were thinking in about two weeks to go in Los Angeles..."
"Yay! Can we meet with the cast?" She says looking at me with puppy dog eyes
"We might see Robert"
"Yes! Then what?"
"Italy mid July"
"Really?!?!"
"Yes! And I have a surprise for you"
"Can you tell me? Please daddy, please!"
"Fine...so I've heard that Chase's family is going to Italy and I might have asked them to spend a few days with us..."
"Did you really?"
"You think I would joke on something like that?"
She hugs me and thanks me, kissing me on the cheeks.
"This is going to be the best summer ever...excepts for these days that we are sick..."
"Let's forget this yeah?"
"Yes" she says laughing hard but only ends up coughing
"Ok there...you ok?"
"I think..."
"Let's lay back down"
She cuddles on me, putting her head on my shoulder and I play with her hair, just like I do with Charlotte.

At lunch time we eat a sandwich with ham and drink some more, and guess what? We fell asleep again!

*Charlotte pov*

Diana called me telling me that the twins are doing so good and she's happy to have them, she even offered to take Alex tomorrow and go to the park with the three of them. As soon as Alex heard he said he was going to pick out the clothes to wear tomorrow...
As I get back in my room at 5 pm I find them asleep again. They are so cute, I really want to snap a pic of them and after I take my phone out and put it on silent I take one.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to let them sleep in here tonight too, they are comfy and I won't have to run in different rooms in case they need me.
Before joining Alex back in his room I take a last glance at them and close the door, letting them rest.
