Mike : The last two weeks have been really tough for Billie. Brian and I were like football players, trying to hold him up from going to Adie. Just today, on Adie's birthday, he was very angry and wanted to see her. I didn't tell Billie about my conversation with Nora... it would break his heart to hear that Adie has feelings for Charlie. I couldn't do that to him. So I tried to keep him from further pain. Brian & I told him to wait for her to get in touch with him. "It's her birthday, Mike!! I have to see her today, please," he begged me as we had breakfast together. "Billie, if she wanted to see you, she would have been in touch in the last 2 weeks. Please don't do it. They will probably throw a party today and want to be among themselves for sure. It's better if you have a private conversation, but she has to decide if and when she wants that, "I replied. The three of us discussed heatedly back and forth until Billie went back to his room, annoyed.

Billie : It's her birthday, I can't ignore her today. Every year I had to control myself not to call her. But now she knows that I’m here, wouldn't that hurt her? I also had a very special present for my Adie... a few days ago I asked my mum to send me a package from my bedside table, which arrived yesterday. I wanted to show Adie how much I love her. How much I missed her. That there is no other woman for me. And I've thought of her every day since we broke up. I was determined that I would win her heart back with that gift... I'll go to bed early later and pretend I have headache. When Mike & Brian leave me alone, I'll make my way to Adie. I just have to see her today, congratulate her, talk to her, and give her my gift... Mike : "Listen Brian, we can't let Billie drive to Adie today. I didn't tell him about Nora. It would tear him apart if he knew that Adie loves Charlie." Brian : "I know that's too much for his heart right now. Maybe it would be best if we try to get him back to California. He has to get back on stage, out to his fans. It'll all distract him from Adie. If he's feeling a little better then, we have to tell him the truth, Mike. It's wrong to lie to him. But at the moment it's better for him..."
