Brian: Mike and I didn't really have a plan on how we should do it. We just knew we had to do something. Our drive to Arizona was pretty quiet. Mike struggled with his emotions because he was sad about Tre. He has to choose between the two people he loves the most. One part of him knows he's doing the right thing, the other one is suffering from hurting Tre. After driving for over 10h, we finally arrived in Arizona. Now afterwards, it would have been wiser to just take a flight ... We kept taking turns so that we didn't get tired of driving. Mike fell asleep in the passenger seat 5 hours ago. The whole thing with Tre had hit him very badly.
Past a beautiful lake, I drove on a small road that led to some single-family houses. Words couldn't describe how beautiful this city was. I soon got to Danny's house and parked in front of the garage. I already heard his two dogs start to bark. "Mike? We are there ..." I said and nudged him carefully.He struggled to his feet and looked confused out of the window. "Weren't we just in Los Angeles?" He asked sleepily. "No ..." I laughed, "that was a few hours ago you fell asleep" ... before I could continue talking, a tall, dark-haired man knocked on our car window with a grin. "Mike !! Brian !! what are you doing here?" Danny roared happily.Danny did open the passenger door euphorically to hold Mike in his arms.Mike was still so sleepy and could hardly hold himself, so he was leaning against the door.Mike flew out with one flop, but before he was even in danger of landing in the mud, Danny had caught him.
Danny: "Tell me mate, what the hell did you put in his drink?" I asked mockingly and gave Brian a fist with my free hand. “He was born this way” Brian replied with laughter. “Just shut up little fools” Mike said with a smile and gave Danny a warm hug. “It’s good to see you buddy, it’s been a long time”. Danny took us all inside and served us a strong coffee to wake up. Danny : “How is it going in Oakland and how do I get the honor to see you fools today? How is Tre doing? and ... eh ... Billie ?" Mike : It was clear to see that it felt Danny hard to talk about Billie ... he is a childhood friend from Steve & Adie ..."
