Third time's the charm

I look at Minna as she lazily looks around her room. Her gaze falls upon me. Her eyes clearly showing that the memories of last night are playing in her head. Then she comes to a realization. She locks her gaze on me.

Minna - ' Did I shoot you? '

Ashley - ' You don't have to yell, it early in the morning.  No you missed, turns out walking towards someone with a loaded gun is not a good idea. '

Minna looks down at her hands as she fidgets her fingers on her lap. I move over to her side and pat her head.

Ashley - ' Everything is fine, no one was hurt. Lets go get breakfast. '

I give her a smile and help her out of bed. The added weight of pulling Minna out of bed causes my wound to ache. I power though the pain and keep a smile on my face.

I help Minna get ready and we both head off to eat breakfast. When we reach the dinning room the atmosphere was immediately tense. Multiple gazes were lock on my scaning me. I give the best smile I can, not that it works for some of the people who already know what really happened.

Breakfast was finished without Minna really something was wrong. Eila and Sakamoto changed the subject when ever someone got curious to what really happend. Minna is not in a stable mind right now, or she would have caught on that something was up.

I went to the infirmary to meet Yoshika. I open the door to see Sakamoto and Yoshika there.

Ashley - ' Hey, we aren't telling Minna about this right? '

Yoshika looks to Sakamoto to see what she should do. Sakamoto stares into my eyes looking for something. Before she sighs.

Sakamoto - ' No, I won't. Not when she's like this at least. '

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. That's good. I move over to one of the beds and take my shirt off. The shock on Yoshika's face when she sees my wound. See looks over to Sakamoto as of asking what happened.  Sakamoto shakes her head.  Yoshika then moves over to me and casts her magic on my wound. The wound closes and heals at a visible rate. Only a minute later the wound is gone but a small discoloured patch of skin remains.

I leave to go to my room for some rest. I lay down on my bed and close my eyes, I wake up to the sound of 2 units taking off. I get up and look out my window to see Yoshika and Perrine take off. Well there goes the rest of my sleep. I clean up my uniform and jog down to the hanger so I can quickly catch up to the two idiots.

I barge into he hanger and equip my unit, disregarding several checks on my pre takeoff I blast out of the hanger. It's not long before I catch up to the two. They already started their duel. The radio goes off.

Minna - ' Neuroi attack coming from Gallia to London. '

I hear Perrine respond over the radio and see Yoshika fly off towards the enemy. I speed up to catch up to her. I quickly fly by Perrine who is shocked to see my flying and here so quickly.  As I approach Yoshika who is now dancing with the Neuroi. The radio comes in as static so I take my radio out of my ear and throw it into my pocket. I take my gun and aim toward the Neuroi. Yoshika notices me and blocks any shot I could get woth her body.

Ashley - ' Yoshika Move! '

Yoshika - ' I won't this Neuroi is friendly don't hurt it! '

Damn it Yoshika I thought you grew up more. I don't have the best aim so I can't take the shot wothout putting Yoshika in my crosshairs. I hear some units catching up behind me. Sakamoto overtakes me and rushes towards Yoshika. I join her better two people handle this. Sakamoto raise her gun and the Neuroi moves away from Yoshika and engages us. The first beam volley lands on Sakamoto and her gun is destroyed, shrapnel flys everywhere,  some flys towards me to I block it with my shield but a clod sensation crawls down my spine. I feel everything slow down I look over my should to see the Neurou there aiming at me charging it laser. Heh, so this is it. I close my eyes waiting for the blast. I hear it go off, as well as everyone screaming out my name. A hot pain goes straight through me. The very same place I got shot earlier.  The pain easily knocks me senseless, I free fall my unit lomg detached from me as I fell. I feel the arms of someone catch me and lower me to the ground. I allow my self so sleep I wanted earlier today. The distant voices all telling me to stay awake. Sorry but I'm to tired.

I can vaguely hear the rhythmic sound of beeping and the strong sterile smell. I can also hear some voices here and there bit nothing to clear for me to understand. This goes on for sometime before a cold feeling takes over me, the beeping turns into a long beep. Its too cold I can't sleep like this, but I'm to tired to wake up. Lets use magic to warm me up, the spell will put me in the perfect state, can't get a cold now can I. I still have a stack of paper work to do with Minna. Eila also invited me to have tea with her and Sanya, she's clearly going for a harem root, lucky her.

I release my magic, my body starts to heat up, my arm and stomach start getting itchy, on my sking and inside if that makes any sense. But I feel good now warm, comfortable,  sleepy, hungry too, I can eat when I get up.

I feel someone grab my hand, so I slowly wake up. All I hear before I open my eyes.

Minna - ' Please wake up. '

Ashley - ' Maybe a kiss from the princess will wake me up. '

Ahh, did that really come out of my mouth, that sounded so cheesy and lame. I suddenly feel something soft press against my lips before quickly going away. Then I feel the room go cold.

Minna - ' You're already fine enough to make jokes.'

I opem my eyes to see a dark smile of one very very angry Minna and Sakamoto actually slightly trembling. Ah, Gran-gran I'm coming to visit you soon. Instead of being hit I'm pulled into a hug and I hear sobbing.  Minna I'm sorry I worried you.
