Fenrir in the 501st

A musical Triste

Sitting down in the dinning room, enjoying a nice coffee, I watch the sun slowly rise up. I should do breakfast today. I finish the last of my coffee and start with breakfast. I make omelettes packed with vegetables and cheese. As I place the last omelette on the table everyone starts to slowly funnel into the room.

Ashley - ' Morning everyone, omelettes for breakfast today, I tried to remember what everyone likes and placed it at your usual spot at the table. '

Everyone silently waddles over to their spot, both Beurling and Anabuki also join us today, today is thier last day on the base, they will both be taking a boat to Britannia main land. The neuroi alarm will signal roughly a few minutes after the Akagi leaves port. I don't have time to modify Sanya's unit, but she wont be going out in this battle, so it should be fine for now. These girls, they are my family aren't they.

The late moring comes by and the alarm goes off. Here we go, I jog over to the briefing room to listen to Minna.

Minna -  ' Shirley, Lucchini, Eila, Sanya and Ashley will be on stand by, all the others will head out. '

Everyone but the people on stand by leave the room to get geared up. I'm probably going to be pulled to the side again,  for a thank you and to get yelled at. Some more coffee seems good. I look at the others Shirley and Lucchini are also leaving the room but Eila is just staring at a sleeping Sanya.

Ashley - ' Eila, you should bring her to her room to sleep. Shes going to be sore from sleeping like that.'

This snaped the Suomus witch out of her trance. Eila then looked at me.

Eila - ' Yeah, ill bring her now. '

Ashley - ' You should keep your hands to your self too, I know i wouldn't be to happy being feeled up when sleeping. '

Eila's face goes completely red. I let out a smirk noting my victory.  I walk off to modify Sanya's unit. Upon reaching the hanger I see Shirley and Lucchini both around Shirley's unit.

Ashley - ' what are you two up too? '

Shirley turns to me, and waves me over. I walk over and join her.

Shirley - ' You do modifications on units right? Have you done mine? '

Ashley - ' Yes, I have. I made sure to keep all of it speed based as that is how you fly. Although I did do some rune work, But thats basically my magic power. As you know is a magical engineering type. So if its mechanical I will be able to modify it or build one easily. Im actually quite proud of my magic, you probably already noticed for a long time now that I was fixing and doing maintenance on everyone's unit. '

Shirley- ' Yeah, but it somehow feels like im cheating. With you helping me like this my dream will be reached to easily.  '

Ashley - ' Well if you want I could just do basic maintenance to keep the parts working, and work around any modifications you do to your unit. Ah I almost forgot, there is one mod that I will have to ask you to keep. Ill show you what one. '

I help Shirley take apart her unit and reconstruct it following her instructions. When we get to the mod I wanted to show her. I told her what it did. It was a back up shield.  It would activate when you were about to crash breaking your fall of in extreme cases if your normal shield failed. After finishing up her unit, I made my way over to Sanya's. Shirley followed me and watched as I worked on Sanya's unit. Asking me questions on what I was modifying. For Sanya's unit I made it more magic saving, for long flights hopefully she wont feel as taxed when she comes back. After finishing up I close the panel on the unit and look to Shirley has she had a pretty surprised face on her. I tilt my head to the side as if ask whats up.

Shirley - ' You are pretty quick with doing maintenance and modifications. It would have taken me days to do that, not to mention the know how to do some of those modifications. '

Ashley - ' I know all the units here inside and out. Pretty much since I got here I've been doing maintenance on all the units. Also since I dont go out for combat much, this is my way of helping in combat, by making sure nothing will happen to the units when you need them. Well I should go make a coffee and organize some paper work. Ill leave you two be. '

I walk off to make coffee and some snacks for Minna when she get back. I make sure the snacks have a strong taste as well as sweet. I bring it to her office and start going through the paper work. As I finsh the last stack, Minna enters as if on queue. 

Ashley - ' The paper work is all done, how was the fight? Ah I made some snack for you with your coffee. '

Minna gives me a pained smile. And makes her way to her desk. She sits down and puts her face in her hands. I move over to her and rub her back. We stay like this for an hour. Before she perks up and starts to do her papers. I notice her coffee empty, I grab it to go fill it up again.

Minna - ' can you tell everyone to join me in the lounge after dinner, also theres alot of paper work here. Could I bother you to bring my dinner here?

Ashley - ' No problem. '

The rest of the day went lull and we all join Minna in the lounge camera and broadcasting system set up. I go out to the balcony and listen to Minna sing. She has sure a wonderful voice. She sings all of her feelings out. The song, feel full of emotion and its saddness.

This wasn't planned but the cliffhanger today is pretty much the same as the anime. Also putting it out there, Im completely open to criticism or suggestions.
