You hate me, I love you

Here I am face to face with the man who hates witches. Both of us looking at eachother, a weird atmosphere fill the car.

Maloney - ' You did good, with those blueprints. Your mother doesn't talk much about her family so I'm quite surprised you knew about me.'

I really took over someone's life, but no one told me I was acting differently. Why doesn't this bother me anymore.

Ashley - ' Umm Air Marshal...'

Maloney - ' No need for for that we are family, but in front of other I ask that we do act like we dont have a family connection. It's safer for you since you're a witch. '

Ashely - ' U-uncle can I ask why you hate witches so much? '

Maloney let's out a long sigh. He looks up to the roof of the car before closing his eyes.

Maloney - ' My men... No my brothers, when before I was an Air Marshal, I was ordered to use entire Air wings to cover witches so they can retreat. Those witches sortied without orders. I ordered them to die, and like good soldiers they followed orders. When the witches got back instead of tanking those who protected them, they said why even bother useing planes if they are just going to die what a waste of space. '

So because some witches felt superior to normal people. Hundreds of mem sacrificed to save less then 10 girls, then those girls spit on the sacrifice the men made for them.

Ashley - ' Not all witches are like that. You have to keep in mind, that every witch is also a child. Children make mistakes. You can't view them the same as adults, even if some of us are able to be like an adult. Did you implement my failsafes in the warlock? '

Maloney - ' I have no idea why you wanted so many failsafes, but yes we did.'

Ashley - ' Tell me have you seen the reports on the Neuroi from the misfits in Suomus? About one of their members that went missing? '

Maloney - ' I know of one of their members going missing for sometime but other then that nothing interesting.  Why? '

Ashely - ' The Neuroi captured her and pretty much brainwashed her and infected her. If they are able to do that to a witch then them being able to do something to a machine is easy, I want to be prepared for when it does happen. No if, because it will happen. '

Maloney - ' So the project will fail? '

Ashley - ' Yes the warlock project will fail, but I have a secondary project derived from it. I call it the Paladin project, A manned mech like the warlock but powered by mana batteries, the current problem I'm having is flight time. The time is not long enough for any combat encounter. Im thinking of a system to help but it would require an entirely new training from any anyone has ever had. '

Maloney - ' I put alot of resources in this project, if it really does fail. I will send you all the documents for the project through hidden channels. '

The car stop near the hanger, I follow Maloney out of the car and stand right behind him his soldiers come and form up on the run way. We are waiting here for a few minutes before I hear the sound of everyone coming back. I look down at my feet as they seem so interesting right now.

Minna - ' Air Marshal Maloney, whats with all the hostilities? '

Maloney  - ' I have here redeployment order for you effective immediately. '

I take a quick glance up to see everyone standing there in the circle of armed soldiers. I see a few of them taking glances at me then at Maloney. 

Maloney - ' You all will be sent bacl to your home countrys or military. Sargent O'Neil will be transferred under my command. '

The warlock now comes and lands behind me. Some engineers come out to look it over. One of them walks over to me.

Engineer - ' Ma'am can I ask for you help, you know more about its systems. '

As I turn around to go over to the warlock I feel the gaze of everyone on my back. Please wait a little longer everyone. I go over and help the engineers look at the warlock, I triple check the failsafes. I see the girl walk by me with Yoshika unconscious. I receive glares and some uncertain looks as they walk by. The one that hurt the most was Minna the look of betrayal in her eyes. It hurt more them when I was shot.

The Akagi came by earlier today to rearm. I make my way over to the Captain. I set up a hidden plan to transfer some striker units to the ship.  I played it off saying that the Fuso Navy wants their strikers before they leave, and since the Gallian witch was also joining them they also want her striker. The normal soldiers thought nothing of this and allowed it to happen. I pass by some of the halls and see other packing their things. When I pass by they all look at me like I'm the enemy. I also pack my things, as I sent a reassignment request to Air Marshal Galland for the 502nd. The letter I sent with it explained how Maloney's project will fail and all the measures I used to make sure I limit casualties the best I can. I walk my Yoshika's room to tell her that everything will be fine. But I hear everyone inside the room.

Barkhorn - ' She was working for Air Marshal Maloney! We trusted her! Minna why do you still have hope for her? '

Minna - ' Trudy, she knows what she's doing. She showed me the blueprints of the warlock. If she really is on Air Marshal Maloney's side then why show me. Why let me know about it. Why even help us. '

Eila - ' She easy to read Barkhorn, everything she did she did because she felt like she had too. Of we ask her. '

Perrine - ' If we ask her what? Would she even tell us the truth, or would she hide it like she usually does. '

I felt like I heard enough of this I turn to continue to go to the hanger but before I get to far I hear Yoshika yell out.

Yoshika - ' She did it all to keep everyone safe! '

That comment made me stop for a moment and smile. I continue my walk to the hanger, I still need to upgrade their units before they go Ill double up the shield just in case maybe if I have time I can enchant the barrel of their guns. I get to work humming along, they don't need me for operating the warlock so I'm free to do what I want till it comes back.
