Fenrir in the 501st

Wolf pack

Im awoken to being shaken. All I can make out is a red and green blurry figure. Im suddenly pulled into a hug and a hand softly strokes the back of my head. My tears that I thought I cried all of, suddenly come back to my eyes. The figure lays down with me in their embrace, gently soothing me, ensuring that everything is okay.

Voice - ' There there. Is okay,let it all out. '

I tightly grip the clothes of the figure and fall asleep. I dream of a grassy field that smells warm and welcoming, like that of family.

I wake up considerably more refreshed then I thought I would, considering what happend last night. It still hurts think about that, roll over in my bed to hear a groan of someone else in my bed. I dont remeber bringing anyone into my bed. I quickly check to see of im still wearing my clothes. Okay safe, I turn to tue other person in my bed and to my surprise its the Commander.

I reactively jump out of my bed.

Ashley - ' Ahhhhh! W-w-what are you doing in my bed?.'

The Commander stirs awake and look over to me still groggy.

Commander Minna - ' Its still early, the neuroi arn't going to attack today, go back to sleep. You need it, ill stay here with you for as long as you need.'

Ashley - ' I have somethings I need to do, and I dont really want to see anyone right now. Ill be headding out.'

I fix my clothes and run out of my room. I keep running until I reach the kitchen. I fix a pot of coffee, I grab a cup and enjoy it. I continue to run around brabing afew things before the sun comes up. I make it the spot of last night. A pain shoots through my heart, my throat tightens, but I power through it. I set fresh blankets and even set up tea and flavor jam that I found, something the Orussians have with tea. I make sure that the tea will be hot right before the sun set to come up and stays hot until it fully rises.

After setting everything up I leave the area and go to the top of the base and look out to where the sun would rise. Out of the corner of my eye is see two figures making there way to the clearing.

The sun rise looks so beautiful , but why does it look so dull. The sun is supposed to bring life and warmth, why do I feel so cold. I suddenly feel arms wrap around me.

Commander Minna - ' Why are you up here alone? You should come down and have breakfast with everyone. '

As she talked I could clearly hear that she was out of breath like she was running around. The sun feels warmer all of a sudden. I snuggle into her arms.

Ashely - ' Can we stay like this for a bit longer? I don't want to see anyone else right now. not with how I look right now. '

Commander Minna - ' Sure, we can. You can just call me Minna, everyone in the unit is family. '

Ashley - '  Family... Id like that. Thank you Co.... Thank you  Minna. '

Minna - ' I have some paperwork to do, do you want to stay in my office with me? '

I nod. We both head off to her office. We spend the entire morning here.

A knock on the door pulls me away from my thoughts.  Minna call for them to enter. A soldier enters he has a box labled mail on it. He exchanges greeting with Minna and get her signature for the box. Then he leaves, my eyes never left him. Then I hear Minna laugh and It turn my attention from the now closed door.

Minna - ' You didn't have to stare at him like you were going to kill him if he made one wrong move. '

I get flustered from her remark. Did I really do that?

Minna - ' Looks like you have a parcel from your mother. '

Huh? My mother? I have actual family here? Did I take over someone's body. No god wouldn't have done that. But who is my family?  I dont remember,  was it mentioned?

Ashely - ' Really? Wow. '

I hop over to Minna's side and take my parcel amd open it. Whats inside makes my face go pale. I shouldn't have opened this near Minna. Let see how can I get around this? Yeah lets go with me being sent an old blueprint I made when I was younger with my magic. That should work.

I pull out the blueprints for the warlock. Wow, this is pretty advanced but it looking at it. I can tell this would never work. I personally remember that neuroi assimilate every component. So the killsafe won't work, if it would ha e any semblance of being usable for a long time a pilot would be required, a witch would be best or a male, if I could make magic batteries. Even calculation are wrong that could be detrimental to the processing capability and reliability of the warlock would drop significantly. Who did he hire to make this?

Im pulled away from my concentration by a nudge from a cute red hed.

Minna - ' Ashley, ive been calling you for a while. Is that a blueprint? '

Ashley - ' huh? Yeah, its an old one I drew up when I was little. I was just shocked at how many errors I did when I was younger. Ahahaha.

Minna - ' I see. I was about to go get some lunch did you want to come with me? '

Ashley - ' Yeah, sure. '

I follow Minna out of the office and we make our way to the dinning room . When we get to the dinning room there is no one inside. I feel really glad that I dont have to see anyone right now. I should be better tomorrow.

Minna makes a pot of coffee for us. Its doesn't take to long before its brewed. She set a cup for both me and her. And gestures for me to sit down beside her.

Ashley - ' Hey ummm, Minna? What do you would happen if someone had an unlimited amount of magic? '

Shes goes into deep thought for a bit. She then turns towards me.

Minna - ' Well, if they had unlimited magic they would be able to not lose thier power when they get older. Also the would have an extremely hard time controlling it, as the pressure if they didn't explode from it, they would not be able to stop it from leaking. '

Ashely - ' I see. I think ill turn in early today, im not too hungry today anyways. '

Minna looks at me worried, before sighing.

Minna - ' Alright, but you have to show up for breakfast tomorrow then.'

Ashley- ' Alright. '

I really dont want to but im feeling compelled to do so, because she asked. After finishing the last of my coffee I head back to my room avoiding anyone coming down the hall. I curl up in bed and rest, hoping I can be my normal self again tomorrow.
