Ch.4 - Openness
He was getting tired of staring at the same little space above him. The wood with purple smears on it was always above him, as were the matching walls surrounding him. Not to mention the metal bars that were before him.
Bakugou currently sat crisscrossed on the futon he had on the ground. His right hand held his chin and he glared boredly at the metal bars. It had been a few months since this had all started and he was getting tired of being stuck in this tiny cage.
He hadn't craved or been tempted by the smell or look of human flesh for what he assumed to be over a month now. Not to mention he was ever-improving with the language skills, now able to have full-on conversations with the strange slayer who had decided to treat him.
Speaking of her, he could hear her walking about upstairs. Her footsteps light and gentle, much like her tone of voice. She had been walking a lot for the past ten minutes, making him start to think she was pacing around and thinking over something.
He was annoyed by it. The creaking of the wood making him want to yell at you to stop so his ears wouldn't be assaulted by the constant creaks. He didn't though, instead, focusing on the meal that he had been given earlier that day. He may not crave human flesh... but that didn't mean he didn't crave a certain kind of flesh.
His hunger hadn't improved. That was the only thing that didn't change since he ended up here.
The creaking becoming louder snapped him out from his thoughts and he focused his carmine eyes towards the staircase. The slayer girl appeared before him, dressed in a thick winter coat that went down to her knees. Her hood was pulled over her head, but still gave him a perfect view of your face.
Nothing was spoken between the pair of you as you walked down the stairs and towards the cage. Bakugou was confused, as you were not carrying his usual meals or a syringe like you usually did.
That confusion only increasing as he watched you take out a key and then insert it into the lock on the cage. The door was pushed inwards, moving until it hit the other side of the cage. The door was open and you looked at him from the other side.
"Want to take a walk?" You asked him, waving for him to get up.
Bakugou gulped but nodded slowly. This was the first time in months he'd be somewhere other than in this wisteria-caged prison. He would be lying if he said he was a little suspicious of why you'd let him do so.
Slowly he stood up and made his way to the entrance of the cage. It was no longer an entrance where his food and injections would be given to him. No, the door was now an exit to him. With a deep breath, he moved through the cage and onto the other side.
He stopped mere centimeters away from the cage after his exit. His head-turning to look at the cage and realize that this wasn't a joke. You were letting him out. He was outside of that little holding chamber.
"Come on." You told him, starting up the stairs. "It won't stay dark for long."
"Dark?" He spoke, echoing your last word.
"Demons can only go out at night... so unless you want to die painfully, I'd not be outside when the sun comes up." You called out to him, disappearing up the stairs.
He nodded slowly, realizing how little he knew about his own biology. He followed you after another moment of hesitation and soon was upstairs. He finally would see what the upstairs held.
It was a letdown though when he finally saw it. He had assumed a slayer like yourself would have a large home with all sorts of weapons adorned on the walls. A home that had numerous rooms, a garden, and maybe even a medical room.
