Ch.22-Fragile

"Thank you again for everything you've done for us in the past year." You bowed to the taller man.

You batted Bakugou who stood next to you. It took him a moment, but it seemed even the proud Bakugou Katsuki was willing to bow his head for Toshinori. The man had clearly made quite the impression on the ash-blonde it seemed. The pair of you bowed before him, the older man chuckling quietly before ushering you both to stand tall once more.

"It has been a pleasure meeting the infamous Kacchan and Kurokori," Toshinori told you both and then looked towards a small cabinet in the tea room.

It had never been opened by the man or really anyone in the year you've all spent within his estate. The large space next to this little area was where the Nichirin blades were kept, but you were getting to glance inside this space right as you and Bakugou were bidding your goodbyes.

"I noticed how you were traveling before and thought this might be a more comfortable way for you both," Toshinori spoke as he revealed a crafted box inside of the little space. "It's made of the same materials as the box that Young Miss Eri is kept in when Young Midoriya goes out during the day. Therefore, Young Bakugou should be more than safe and comfortable inside of here. Plus... he'll be able to get out himself should he decide to."

That last comment certainly made you and your back happy. So you spoke words of gratitude for Toshinori's parting gift. You placed it down before Bakugou, and he seemed to inspect it. It certainly was bigger than the basket you were about to force him back into and he could get out on his own and not worry about the damn sun? Seemed like a good deal to him.

"I'll give it a try. better not be shitty." He scoffed and then started to climb into the box and get himself situated.

He slammed the door shut the moment he was in and you shook your head at his antics. It appeared Bakugou had shifted his size at the right time, as a moment after he closed the door, Midoriya and Eri entered the tea room once more.

"Here," Midoriya spoke to you sadly. "This should hopefully be enough for a week since it's just you."

He handed you a belt made to hold the three blades that you carried now and also pockets to hold your medical vials and anything else you might need to travel with you. That anything else right now was the food and water Midoriya and Eri had prepared for you.

"Thanks, Deku." You smiled at him and then stepped forward.

You held him close to you and gave him a hug filled with so many conflicting emotions that your green-haired friend had to give you a hug back to show he was feeling the exact same.

He had gotten his two precious friends back this last year... and now, he was having to say goodbye to them again. It hurt. But... at least he knew they were alive and had the other for this journey that they have decided to follow.

"As soon as Kacchan is human again, we'll come right back here so I can make Eri human again as well." You promised Midoriya and then looked at Eri. "When you are... we'll have tea and snacks together."

The tiny demon girl looked at you with wide eyes and nodded excitedly. She too seemed sad to say goodbye but understood it. You made a promise to the scary demon you carried and she knew how important promises were.

"Thank you all again." You spoke and started to open the door to the outside. "We'll be back as soon as we can!"

You waved goodbye. Eri hid behind Midoriya from the sunlight, Midoriya held back tears, and Toshinori gave you a heartfelt smile. You closed the door and just like that... it was just you and Kacchan again.
