SELENA’S P.O.V

Lunch ended more than an hour ago, tapi Holland and London - the cold Don masih sini… dorang tidak balik to their office kah tu? surprisingly, I witnessed another side of London in this orphanage - the warm, gentle, loving London… dia bipolar kah ni? I’m nearly so sure that he’s suffering from some kind of disease... a personality disorder disease… tsk tsk…

Ugh… mana lagi si Tyler mengikut saya ke sana, ke sini… I made friends with Fifi, short for Afifah… but the other volunteer, Edna, tidak semesra Fifi, so I keep my distance from her…

I know the kind of girls that I should stay away from… bitter and envious girls… and I can see it just by the way she keeps on looking at me with killer eyes setiap kali Tyler ikut-ikut saya… thank god I’m not tied to the orphanage or else it’s like Hailey-Justin 2.0…

By the time 3pm, it’s time for the kids’ nap sudah… the staffs put the kids to sleep sementara kami packing untuk balik…

“ummm… uncle…” TYLER.

Saya nampak muka Holland menegang… I remembered when I called him uncle dulu dia suruh saya panggil dia Holland saja… erk, I think this is just the same situation…

“Ty… you can just call Holland saja…” saya cuba mencairkan keadaan yang nampak agak tegang… kenapa perasaan saya macam tidak baik saja ni? I can feel Holland tidak suka Tyler… but why?

“tapi…” Tyler membantah… “I can’t call your dad by his name…”

WHAT?! saya sedar muka Holland termerah… lantas Holland menatap saya sambil mengukirkan satu senyuman… not a friendly smile though…

GULP.

“Ah, Selena…” okay, I'm feeling not very comfortable now… “daddy disapproves of you having a guy’s number on your phone…”

“uh?” saya jadi blur ni… who’s daddy? and Tyler yang buduh ni what makes him think that Holland is my dad?

But then Kimmy menghampiri kami… saya terasa sikit lega that the awkward conversation between Holland, Tyler and myself kena cut in by Kimmy…

Short lived tu kelegaan…

“Hol, you guys balik terus?” Kimmy tanya Holland…

“yeah…” saja Holland jawab…

“great!” Kimmy menghela nafas lega… lega? “can you help to send Tyler home?”

Holland nampak terkejut, but he didn’t answer straightaway… saya pun terkejut juga…

“London’s gonna drive dad’s Vellfire to Uncle Harren’s…” Kimmy bilang… Holland gave her a ‘so what it has gotta do with me? ’ look…

“Edna and Fifi kami yang hantar sebab satu jalan…” Kimmy explained… “Tyler’s staying in Taman Sri Gaya… sama jalan with you… thanks, Hol…” then Kimmy and the rest left…

Walking to Holland's car, Tyler berjalan di depan saya, seiringan dengan Holland…

“Thanks, uncle…”

Holland menoleh menatap Tyler but did not say anything… ugh, you’d better shut up, Tyler!

Sesampai saja di kereta Holland, Tyler reached to open the door of the front passenger seat…

“Selena…” suara Holland membuat saya tersentak…

“ah?” I felt so nervous…

“sit in front…” Holland mengarahkan saya…
