A heart has always been something fragile, something that we all needed to live- but what good was it when it was torn? It was simple, you would die...but in this case, what if it harbored love?

Levi never knew that, he never understood what love was. Perhaps he used many things to substitute the love he truly lacked, with the words of people he hated and the popularity he somehow gained. Though, neither could truly heal his heart that has been torn the day he was born. The numbness he felt upon the countless days he spent his life accelerated his false feelings of love, yet numerous times he asserted himself that this 'love' he was feeling was indeed what it was. But he knew that he couldn't repress it any longer. Well, not until you came, and yet...he lost it.

The moment he grew to understand what love was...he lost it all.

Your heart quickened the moment you saw him again. The way he carried the world, the way his eyes shined hope in your eyes, the way his bangs covered beautifully over his silvery hues- you were enchanted. As a whole, you were enamored, truly by him. No words could formulate the feelings you had for him, neither could your own words from your heart tell you that- not even the simple words of 'I love you'. What purpose would such words have been if they came out of your lips without an ounce of how much you truly mean it if it was not shown through your actions?

Mikasa stood firmly beside you, placing a hand upon your tensed-up shoulders to reassure you that everything would be alright. "You got this" her voice soft, surprisingly from someone such as Levi's cousin.

You looked at her, nervousness prominent upon your face as you watched Levi by your locker, the students all walking to their respected classes. "Are you sure?" you asked, "what if he rejects me?"

Mikasa shook her head, affirming to you that unless you try, nothing would come out of your feelings for him. And by this point, the school was close to coming to a close, with many departing to different places for better education, meaning now would be a good of a time as any. "If it comes to it, don't just sulk. There's plenty of guys out there" she reasoned.

You looked into her eyes, "but of all the guys I met...I feel something when I see him. I feel so much love Mikasa" you say, intaking steady breathes.

She sighed, squeezing your shoulders once more. And though she could never talk you out of loving him, she would do what it took to help you if it does end in a rejection. "Alright, alright" she pushed you lightly, "I'll be here for you."

You smiled at her, in appreciation for her encouragement. You began your walk to him, with the few students leaving, Levi was left by his locker, taking out the multitude of useless books he had to purchase. The closer you came to him, the more your heart raced, all was too real, seeing him made you happy.

When he saw you approach him, his eyes held what you'd consider a wall. You've always seen the way he carried himself, so confidently, yet you saw just how lonely he seemed. For whatever reason, he was this way for, you knew that he simply seemed to be tired of something. You couldn't offer what it was, but you'd hope that if you shared your love for him, he wouldn't look so sad all the time.

He closed the locker and locked eyes with you, silently judging you. "Who the hell are you?" he asked, voice evident in a tone that he had no idea who you were.

You stood in front of him, looking determined to voice such a feeling you've had for him since the beginning of school. "I just wanted to say that I..." you trailed off, but you persisted, not about to give up this chance. "I like you!"

Levi stood still, face displaying a sense of disinterest in your words. "So?" he said, picking up his backpack. "I don't know who you think you are, but I have a girlfriend."
