Author's Note: I wasn't sure what the place I wanted to set the plot in was called, so as a heads up, it'll be set in a combination of a sauna, a bathhouse, and a hot spring. Though not all will be used, it's just to give a sense of the surroundings.

Being Captain had its perks, one of the best was being able to work alongside strong, dependable individuals like Commander Erwin and Squad Leader Hanji. Although they were the finest and most admirable of the Survey Corps, what you enjoyed most was the chance to work alongside Corporal Levi.

After having been assigned by the Commander to supervise the Corporal's squad alongside him, everyone except the Corporal himself welcomed you with open arms. You were a little upset at that, but kept your feelings strictly professional. Fortunately, over the course of a little more than two years, he finally opened up to you.

He had trusted you with his flaws, his secrets and sins, and hoped that you would keep them between the silence of your moments together. And you did, much to his stubborn heart's denial and yet, content.

However, his heart couldn't accept that someone as wonderful as you were, was willing to stay in his life after hearing who he really was.

He had allowed these thoughts to consume his mind on a daily basis, like a parasite that feasted on every chance he wanted to believe in the fact that he deserved at least a sliver of happiness in his cruel life. But each and every time he did, the parasite would eat it, leaving him with nothing but doubts and regret.

"Have you gotten any sleep in?" You asked, and your voice, so kind and loving, brought him back every time he would lose himself in the dark.

Getting his bearings, he felt the blazing sun above him, illuminating his skin while the sounds of huffing and the sight of soil kicked into the air to meet with the wind, danced.

"Tch, does it look like I've gotten any?" He answered with a scoff.

"Unfortunately, not." You chuckled inwardly, directing your focus to the cadets training in pairs while still thinking about him. "Although, I do wish for you to take a break every now and then."

He crossed his arms, glancing at you. "And how do you suppose I do that?"

You shrugged. "Ask Erwin for a break, hell, he should allow us to take a week long break every now and then." Stretching your back, Levi was worried about that stiffness he noticed on your right shoulder. He wanted to help in some way, but knowing himself better than anyone, he was worried he'd end up hurting you. He was prone to it all his life, so what difference would it make?

While enjoying the spectacle of your cadets training together, namely Eren getting his ass beat by Jean and Jean getting his ass beat by Eren, the moment felt like a dream come true. A life where you were close to the man you've grown to foster feelings for, and cadets you considered as kids you hoped to create a better future for, there was nothing more you'd want but their freedom and your own.

Suddenly, out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Moblit approaching you, greeting both you and Levi with a perfect salut. You waved him at ease. "Corporal Levi, Captain (Y/N), I was sent to inform you that Commander Erwin wishes to see you in his office."

You lifted a brow, quite intrigued since it was quite sudden. "Who'll look after our cadets?"

"I will, the Commander is waiting for you, so I'd advise you to head up now" Moblit suggested.

Looking at Levi, he gazed back at you, with those wonderful grey hues like the moon that you couldn't help but smile. Returning your gaze back to Moblit, you thanked him before making your way to Erwin's office, Levi in tow.
