He never liked the medical ward. Of all places he had to go to on this day, it had to be there. It always smelled of blood, buckets filled to the brim with puke and the soldiers wounded beyond comprehension. He despised the place, but he had no choice. He would either die from blood loss or get himself treated.
With a dismissive grunt from Hanji suggesting that he went, he staggered his way to the ward. The hallways seemed smaller than usual, he observed. The windows weren't as clean near his side and the floor seemed to be deteriorating just a bit.
His eyes were keen, so he easily noticed these things. The pad of his fingers brushed the wood, passing occasional bumps along the way. He took a moment to rest, releasing his hand over his wound.
"Fucking hell, if I had known shittyglasses was going to pull that stunt, I would've never tried saving her" he hissed angrily.
Regaining what little was left of his strength, he took a step forward until his legs became wobbly. He took a step but the pressure made him loose his balance and fall.
He landed harshly, bum to the ground as a thump resonated along the halls, echoing into the ears of anyone who had the lucky sight to see Humanity's Strongest Soldier down and defeated.
You happened to be that person, though it wasn't anything you wanted to see. Alarmed to see a man down and bleeding, you rushed over and kneeled down beside him. Your knee rested beside his hip as you rested your arm on your leg.
"Shit, I've never seen something that deep before" commenting on Levi's cut.
He turned his head, catching your eyes. "It's not of your business cadet."
You cracked a small smile, shaking your head to his confusion. "Sorry to disappoint but I'm not a cadet. I'm only wearing the uniform since I was out on break. I'm a nurse, see?" You took out your white cap and placed it on your head. "I'd say we should get you treated as quickly as possible."
With your advice given, you rested your hand on his back, supporting him as he got up. Normally, he hated it whenever anyone would touch him so closely. But with you, your gentle touch gave him a sense of safety, a guidance to where he needed to be.
Arriving, it was luckily not as busy as it would have been on a normal expedition day. You were glad since seeing people hurt pained your hands, they'd tremble and never cease to yearn to heal.
Taking the Corporal to a bed, you sat him down and asked that he wait. He complied and held his abdomen, hissing under his breath. His eyes trailed around the room. It's been ages since he's been here, the only time was when he visited Hanji after getting her arm fucked up. Reason being her titan babies had gotten the chance to scratch her with their nails. That idiot had it coming and would never catch a break.
Running water from the faucet was the only thing he heard, with the occasional small laughs and chatter of the people at the other end of the room.
It was silent, but calm, he admitted.
After a few minutes, you arrived back with your proper attire. "I apologize for the delay." You said, taking a seat and swinging over a small cart of your medical supplies such as gauze, swabs, some ointment, thread, and needles. "Let's begin!" You spoke happily, annoying him.
"Tch, what are you so happy about?" He spoke in a chastising tone- you didn't take it to heart.
"I'm able to help someone in need aren't I?" You responded while he let you lift up his blood stained dress shirt to see his wound. You analyzed it, taking in the necessary steps that'll be needed for it to heal. "Luckily it's actually not too deep. I'm quite impressed you were still able to walk! How'd you get this injured if you don't mind me asking?"
