The snowflakes fell ever so gently upon the rooftops of towns, homes, and the headquarters of the Survey Corps. They covered the ground in an endless color of pure white, a sort of bliss in contrast to the prominent color that all the soldiers who fought against the titans knew all of, red. The purity of white as it fell onto petals of flowers, upon each other and stacked up against the doorways felt much better than the droppings of anything that reminded them of fallen comrades.
The cadets and superiors were all huddled together by the fireplace as it crackled, sparkling flames of red and orange hues. Their warmth radiated onto the faces of each and every one of those who sat by it, providing them all with the warmth they needed. Whilst the snow continued its reign, Mikasa and Eren shared a large blanket over each other, each holding a mug of delectable milk; provided by you as your father was a renowned baker of the town. Likewise, Jean and Connie shared one with each other while Sasha had her own. Armin had his own as well as Hanji having one around her shoulders, sitting beside him to discuss upcoming missions, and you were currently sitting upon the couch, crossing your arms without one.
There were only a few blankets that were good enough to keep the cadets warm when the temperature dropped, thus, you declined to have one. It would be better for them to have it than you. Levi did the same, though, more because he really didn't need one, or perhaps he was good at hiding that fact.
You turned your head to the side, gazing at Levi as he too crossed his arms and observed the cadets, sprawled out around the floor by the fireplace. Your eyes lingered on the man that was by your side. You liked the way his hair was styled, the way his body seemed relaxed at the moment, the way his arms crossed over his chest as he breathed in calmly. You continued to admire him, observing the way his lips turned down in concentration; however, since the couch wasn't all that long, the space between the two of you led him to notice your gaze.
"Tch, are you going to keep staring at me?" Levi inquired, lifting a brow to you as he turned his body to the side.
You blinked a few times, your lips turning upwards to show him a warm smile. "Sorry about that" you replied, turning your head back to the crackling of the fireplace.
Levi now was the one observing you. He admired the way your eyes softened whenever you spoke with him, or with anyone. The way you smile made his heart skip a beat because not many would smile his way, but even if they did, Hanji for example, he despised it as most of the time, the smile meant he had to partake in dangerous over the top experiments, or favors. But for you, you smiled at him with such...love, with such, calmness to it that he couldn't help but begin to fall.
Both physically as he'd sometimes catch himself tripping over his legs when his legs grew weak whenever you were near him, and metaphorically when his heart soared, almost to the moon with how much he's fallen in love with you.
Keeping it together, Levi quickly noticed your hands shivering, and turning to see Hanji, speaking happily with Armin with a blanket around her, he furrowed his brows. Sighing, Levi stood up and walked over to Hanji, leaving you to rest your head on the back of the couch for a moment.
"Oi," his voice was clear, earning the attention of the two people conversing.
Hanji looked up at him, and realizing it to be her favorite stoic friend, she smiled. "Hey Shorty!" she cheered.
Levi grumbled at the nickname. "Shitty-glasses, I need your cover" he demanded. Hanji raised a brow since, after all, he said he didn't need one. So, he elaborated further. "(Y/N)'s cold, so I'm going to need it. You can share with Cadet Arlert."
"Oh? So it's for (Y/N)?" Hanji teased, her lips forming a smirk that irritated Levi more than she thought possible.
"Tch" he scoffed, quite impatient as he didn't want you to get any colder. "Are you going to give it to me or not?" he asked again.
