Afraid of Losing You (Insecure!Levi x Reader)

You held Levi's hand within yours, gently using your thumb to graze over his ever so calloused knuckles. Years of rigorous training have made them that way, and you always remind yourself to pay attention to them, to love that part about the man you love. You loved all of Levi, and you hoped to always express that to him no matter where you were, even in the prying eyes of your comrades.

"You smell delightful" Mike complimented you.

He sat to the right of you while Levi sat to the left. Although one of Levi's hands was grasped into yours, he used the other to hold his teacup in his little unique way, one that has always made you smile. He brought it to his lips and drank it, placing it down to emit that small clink of the china teacup you had recently bought for him.

You laughed at the compliment, already used to how Mike was always saying that to you. "Thanks, Mike, but please refrain from smelling people. It's weird" you advised.

Mike smirked, leaning a little too close to you. Levi's eyes watched as Mike sneaked his large muscular arm around your shoulder, and Levi couldn't help but glance at his own arm. They didn't seem to show as much as it did like Mike's, and it didn't help that Mike was leaning a little too close for both you and Levi's comfort.

"All fun (Y/N), it's harmless. You should know that this here nose to good on missions" he said, proud of his feature.

You chuckled nervously, lightly shoving Mike's arm off your shoulder. "Well that's nice Mike, but don't get so close to me" you warned. When you saw how Mike paused for a moment to understand what you meant, you rose you and Levi's intertwined hands up. "I'm Levi's, meaning you can't just do that and expect us both to be okay with it. Besides, even if we are close friends, we have boundaries you should respect."

Mike looked between the two of you, and he noticed the way Levi seemed to hold a lot of love for you. Mike knew that the two of you were together, no doubt, but he was simply teasing you to get a certain reaction out of Levi, but it seemed to be futile. His lips tugged upwards, and he sent a wink your way. "Well, congratulations to you two," he said. Then, he stood up to leave, and as he walked, his physique displayed for you all to see. His muscular back was evident, along with his chest. Levi felt his heart pain slightly by the way many people seemed to admire Mike, but looking at you, he noticed how you weren't paying much attention to the blonde man, but rather the letter Levi had written for you.

"That's really sweet of you Levi" you smiled warmly at him. "I didn't know you were so lovely dovey~" you teased, placing your head on his shoulder.

Levi stiffened, not used to being so intimate. He loved that you initiated most of it, despite how inexperienced he was when it came to being in a relationship. It's not like he hated it, he was just naive when it came to these sorts of things. Gulping, he took another sip of his tea. "Tch, don't get used to it. I only did it for today because I felt like it" he responded sternly.

You saw through it, but nonetheless, you admired the words that were on the piece of paper. "Well, thank you a lot, Levi. I'll be sure to keep it forever" you said, and that simply melted his heart.

For the rest of the time Levi had with you during lunch, he couldn't help but think about how often men flocked to you.

Erwin was one of them, not in the sense that he tried to make you his, but more along the lines of asking for your assistance due to your intelligence. It was something that Levi lacked, due to how he grew up in the Undergrounds, education was heavily limited- thus, the most he could do was write really neatly and read really well, but on subjects like science...not so much. Erwin admired that about you, how intellectual you were, and thus, would often invite you to partake on his missions in the front lines and on cases to increase the funding for missions.
