~~~KASHISH's POV~~
Mehek and I awkwardly kept exchanging looks. Both of us knew what Preet was going through yet, none of us knew how to help her. Preet too, sat there, silently staring at her fingers. She hadn't moved an inch since we arrived here.
There was complete silence in the room until the door sprung open and came inside a couple of annoying girls. "Baraat aa gayi!" They chirped, grabbing Preet's attention, who was sitting on the couch, lifeless, a second ago.
"Chalo Meri shaadi hai!" She said out loud, getting up from her seat and everyone laughed while Mehek and I shook our heads. "Bhabhi chalo na!"
Kya ho gaya hai iss larki ko?
"Preet Abhi nahi," Mehek said calmly, caressing her cheek, "jab woh bahar bulayenge tab."
Yeah, stretch it as much as you can because that would only give Hussain more time- that is only if he is actually going to come back. And I really hope that he does!
Preet huffed and slowly limped over to the other side of the room. I had bandaged her heel but I bet that it was still quite sore. Poor her.
~~~RAJVEER's POV~~~
Hope. Kashish had told me to hold on to that. Sab bakwaas! Na hi woh Hussain aane Wala hai aur na hi ab koi yahaan Meri baat sunne wala hai. Kuch bhi ho jaye daar Ji ab yeh shaadi nahi rokne denge.
They say that God only help the ones who help themselves. Yet, Preet doesn't want to help herself and I can't think of anything either. Preet is going through so much and I am helpless- karoo bhi toh Kya? I need to help her out of this mess and I hardly have any time left. Yes, I could call the cops and inform that this wedding is being forced on her but, I know that Preet won't say anything against Daarji's decision. Unless some miracle happens and he says no to this wedding himself- she won't speak up.
I don't know if that defines her as a good daughter or a coward- but, it irritates me how she would never speak up against her elders for something that she wants; something that is right. Mujhe toh ab bhi yakeen nahi hota ki woh do maheene pehle ghar se bhaag kar uss trip pe gayi thi.
"Chal, we need to get Preet," Karanveer tapped on my shoulder and I shook my head. Almost time for varmala. Aur kitni hope?
"Yeah," I mumbled and followed him until daar Ji stopped me. Now we are talking? Ab kahaan gaye nakhre?
"Jee?" I asked, trying my best to sound cool.
"They will get Preet. You stay away from her," he said sternly and I frowned. Business deal ka clause likhwa rahe hein?
"I don't understand?" I asked and he sighed. "Uska dimaag kharab karna band karo. Woh waise he uss larke ke peeche pagal ho chuki Hai. Bohot mushkil se maani shaadi ke liye so, don't you dare ruin it!"
I blinked at him while he stared deep into my eyes. Clearing my throat, I said as politely as I could, "daar Ji, Preet is my sister and I will support her through whatever that is right for her and makes her happy. I just want the best for her."
"Kitna bhala chahte ho Yeh toh dikh hi raha hai," he chuckled and my frown grew deeper. "Atleast aapki tarhaan uske dard ko nazar-andaaz toh nahi kar raha."
"Only Raj can help her forget all the pain," daar Ji stated and I found myself laughing at his pathetic ignorance. "Yes, of course!" I said sarcastically and shook my head.
"With all due respect daar Ji, I feel sorry for you and you will know later on why exactly I said that," Feeling horribly helpless, I left him there to process all that I had just said to him.
