Chapter 21. A Hodgepodge Life

Eric walked outside and joined Lloyd smoking a joint. He took the joint from Lloyd and took a pull. "I need 24/7 watch on her," he told Lloyd. 

Lloyd looked at him.  "We already have 24/7 watch on her....to keep her safe.  Is there something you not telling me?" Lloyd asked. 

Eric took a pull on the joint and blew the smoke into the air.  "I want tighter security on her; I dont want her left alone for a minute," Eric said.

"What is going on man? Between me and  you and the dogs we have kept her safe," Lloyd pointed out. 

Eric looked at Lloyd.  "We need help to protect her from herself; I think she is about to run," Eric said. 

Lloyd mouth dropped opened.  He was speechless.  "Run? What the fuck you talking about? She is almost due to have the baby, why would she want to run; what the fuck did you do to her?" Lloyd asked getting agitated.

Eric looked at Lloyd.   He thought that Lloyd responded as if he had an interest in Tanya.  

"You in love with my wife?" Eric asked out of the blue and once again Lloyd was left speechless. 

"What? Yea I love her like  a fucking sister and just as I would not want any hurt come to any of my sisters I would not want any harm come to her." Lloyd said.

"What is wrong with you? She has no one Eric; she barely has you," Lloyd pointed out.

That did it for Eric.  He punched Lloyd right in the face.  Lloyd did not see that coming. 

Tanya heard the commotion outside and ran outside to see what was going on.  She was shocked to see Eric and Lloyd going  at it in an all out brawl. 

"Stop it," she said trying to get between them.  "Stop it before you kill each other," Tanya said.  

Eric took his eye off Lloyd.  He was scared  of Tanya getting hurt.  Lloyd ceased the opportunity and landed a  punch to Eric's gut, then another to his jaw sending him flying  into the side of the house.  

"You try that shit with me again and I will fucking kill you," Lloyd said and ran into the house to get his stuff.   Tanya tried to help Eric up.  Lloyd came out a few minutes later with his bag. 

"Lloyd where are you going? Please dont go," Tanya begged.   

"Look, I am sorry but I need to leave; take care of yourself," he told Tanya and walked away.

Tanya got Eric back inside and started to clean his bruises.  She had heard the two brothers exchange harsh words before but she had never seen them fight  like that.

"So are you going to tell me what caused the fight between you and Lloyd?" Tanya asked.

"Dont worry about him; he will be back; the fucker is in love with you too; looks like all the men in my family cant help but fall for my beautiful wife," Eric smiled.

Tanya was shocked at what Eric said.  "What are you saying Eric? Did you accuse him of having an affair with me?" She  asked.  "Why would you say or think such a thing ? You really are crazy," Tanya said.   She threw the rag she was using to clean his bruises at him and walked away.

"Yes thanks to you; I am fucking crazy," Eric said.   He grabbed a bottle of liquor from the cabinet and put it to his head.  "Fuck," he said.

After that night there was a drastic change in Eric and Tanya's relationship, not that it was great before but it went from bad to worst.  No one could tell looking on from the outside or even the inside but they knew.   Tanya kept to herself and Eric could not figure out what was going on in her head.  There was a time when he could easily read her mind but it was as if she blocked him.  He could not tell what was going on with her.   Lloyd came back after Eric apologized to him and that made Tanya happy but as for Eric she had very little to say to him.  It was as if she fliped the script on him.
