Rick looked at the clock in the kitchen. It was already 9:AM and Sahita still had not come down. He was still in shock about what she said in her drunking stupor , and where in hell did she get that baby? He had to call Mint, his godmother, to come over and care for the kid. He got very little sleep the night before. He was up most of the night thinking of what Sahita said and checking on her for fear that she might vomit and choke to death. He felt that she was up but was waiting for him to leave so she could come down, but he was not leaving until they talked.
Rick was just about to go drag her down the stairs when Sahita walked into the kitchen, still wearing the red dress from the previous night. She stopped short at seeing Rick. She took a seat around the dining table. Rick looked at her and she looked everyehere but at him. Rick walked away and got a cup from the cabinet and full it with coffee for her. He gave her two aspirins and some water. He wanted to make sure she had a clear head for their talk.
She took the aspirins and washed them down with the coffee instead of the water Rick gave her. Rick kept looking at her, but she would not look at him. She had way too much to drink the night before and she knew that she said some horrible words to him, if only she could remember what exactly she said. This was the main reason why she didn't drink; things get revealed and words said that should never be revealed or said.
"We need to talk," Rick said.
"Can we talk later? I feel sick," she said.
"We talk now; first, where did you get that baby?" Rick asked.
"Baby? Oh shit I need to go see about her," Sahita said.
Rick smiled sadly. "She is ok; Mint has her," Rick told her.
"She is ours Rick....I mean I adopted her; she has no one; her parents doesn't want her and she is such a beautiful baby," Sahita said.
"Ours? Fuck no, why in hell would you go off and adopt a new born without discussing it with me? further more you are not fit to mother that child; you left her by herself up there while you got fucking drunk down here and passed out. Who the fuck in their right mind does that? Did you come off your medication again?" he asked.
"No.....Rick I am not crazy if that is what you think; I had a big fight with Eric and I just lost it," she said.
"What was the fight about?" Rick asked.
"The baby.....it was about the baby. He told me to give her back, but I need her Rick and she needs me; all the kids are gone and you are never home....I need to keep that baby," she cried.
"Eric, you said I am not Eric's father," Rick said.
Sahita's eyes popped open. 'Oh shit , did I say that? He is trying to bait me; deny everything'
"I said no such thing; why would I say something like that?" She asked.
"Maybe because it's true," Rick said.
"I was drunk Rick; I dont remember anything I said, but I if I did say that, it was only to get back at you for being such a shitty husband to me; I wanted to hurt you as much as you have hurt me," Sahita cried.
"You should know Sahita that alcohol is like truth serum; people usually tell the truth when they are drunk," Rick said.
"You said Raj was Eric's father which would make Mila Eric's sister; tell me it isn't so Sahita; tell me you couldn't be that fucking sick to know that, and still try to push them together," Rick said.
"Is this why Eric is so mad at you? Did you tell him Raj was his father? Answer me," Rick shouted.
"Stop it Rick, just stop it; Raj is not Eric's father; you are. You are the father of all my children including the two we lost. And Eric knows nothing because there is nothing for him to know," Sahita said.
