Chapter 25. Baby Willbrooks

Just then the phone rang.  It was Linden.  "Put Eric on the phone," Linden said.  Sunday looked at Eric.  "And how do you know Eric is with me?" She asked.

"Fuck Sunday, how do you think? He told me," Linden said.

Sunday passed the phone to Eric.  "Your wife is in labor; take your ass to the hospital like right now," Linden said.

Fuck," was all Eric said and hang up.  He was out the door before Sunday could say anything.

He was scared. He was miles away from the hospital and at that time of day he knew there would be major trafic. He got on the car phone. He called the hospital. He had put in certain security protocol  for Tanya's safety  while she was at the hospital,  but now it was working against him because they would not give him any information on Tanya. He asked them to track down his brother that was there withTanya. After what seemed like forever, Lloyd came to the phone.

"Eric? Where the fuck are you? Tanya water broke and I rushed her to the hospital but she is crying and asking for you," Lloyd said.

Eric almost ran into the car in front of him as he closed his eyes after hearing that. "I am on my way but with this fucking trafic, I cant say when. Please stay with her....dont leave her, and Lloyd if the baby comes before I get there....you need to look out for him too," Eric said.

"What are you saying? You dont think your mother would hurt her own grandchild? Do you?" Lloyd asked.

'She hurt me, her own son why wouldn't she hurt my son....or daughter especially a child belonging to Tanya'

"Right about now I dont fucking trust anyone," Eric said.

"Well I hope you trust me," Lloyd said.

"You and Linden are the only ones I trust about now," Eric said.

"You dont trust her medical team either?" Lloyd asked.

"I trust her doctor; I tried to vet the people from the  team and they pan out but this is a hospital with hundreds of people we dont know anything about; just take care of them for me.....Tanya and the baby until I get there. Thanks man; I owe you big time," Eric said.

"What is that I hear? Are you crying man?" Lloyd asked.

"No, I am not fucking crying; just go take care of my family," Eric lied and hang up.

Lloyd walked into the  labor room and he felt like crying watching Tanya go through labor. He looked around the room at all the people taking care of Tanya.  Aside from Dr. Moore, he had no clue who any of these people were.   What was he suppose to do? Tell them to stay away from her? He wondered how he could protect her.  He prayed that Eric get his ass there and soon.  Lloyd took Tanya's  hand. He had accompanied her to her Lamaze classes a few times so he knew what was expected of him. He helped her with her breathing and fed her ice chips.

"Where is Eric?" She asked after she came down from a painful contraction.

"He is on his way; he was on the the other side of the island  working on a project; so it may be a little while," Lloyd said.

Tanya got angry at Lloyd and pulled her hand away. "You are lying; he is not coming; why would Eric go out of town knowing that I am due to have our baby?" she asked.

"Tanya I would not lie to you; Eric is on his way and you are a week early, remember?" he reminded her.  "And this is your first baby; there is time for him to get here," Lloyd said.
