'How fucking great I sat for how long talking to a ghost?'  Tanya felt lightheaded.  Eric was just in time to catch her.  He carried her outside where she could get some fresh air.  Eric was worried about her.  He did not know what to make of Tanya's story.  He did not believe in ghosts.

His grandfather had a different take on it.  He believed  that when people die, they just move to another dimension and can move back and forth between dimensions by assuming certain forms.  Grandpa Will  also thought that it was possible that Tanya fell asleep and that Ida just came to her in a dream.  That was how  the  dead communicated with the living.....in dreams, he said.

Tanya kept quiet.  She knew what she saw and she knew that she was not asleep.  The woman spoke to her....touched her face.  She told her things that only she and Eric would know.  That was why she thought the woman was a local priestess.

'If there was any dead person I wanted to talk to, it would be my father...why his grandmother?'

"I am  ready to go." She told Eric.   On the trip back home she had very little to say to him.  Instead she turned on poor Ericka.  Everything Ericka did seemed to upset her and she kept yelling  at the kid.  Eric could not wait to get home and be out of the car with her.   'I wish the fuck I could stop loving her'

Things  only deteriorated after they returned from visiting his grandfather.  He tried what his grandfather advised but Tanya was on the war path.  She wanted nothing to do with him.  The conversation she claimed she had with his dead grandmother  was obviously  eating at her but she refused to talk to him about it or tell him what this ghost said to her.   It was one fight after the other.  It reached the point where Eric dreaded going home.  If it was not to see Ericka, maybe he wouldn't bother to go home.

As Eric drove home  one evening, he made the decision to let Tanya go.  Neither of them was happy  and this rift between them had been going on for much too long and it was pulling them farther and farther apart.     It was clear to him that she wanted out of the marriage.  He wasn't even sure if she still love him.   'I should have let go after she left the island with Neil.  That should have been the redline for me'

He thought that he would move out of the house.  That was her house.  He made sure he put the deed in her name only, as insurance if anything happened to him.  He  still owned the little house on the beach.  He thought that he could move back there until he find an apartment  in the city.  He wanted to be close to his music production company.   'My music  will be my new wife; she can do what ever the fuck she wants to do.'   He would not stand in her way any longer.  His main concern was Ericka.  He was not about to give Tanya sole custody of his daughter.   If only he didn't still love Tanya, everything would be so much easier, he thought.   I wish the fuck I could stop loving her, I wish I could'

He was in deep thoughts  when the car came full speed around the corner and lost control.  Eric swerved  but could not avoid it.  His entire life flashed before him as if he was watching a movie in slow motion.  'Is this the end of me? His last thought was of Tanya,  and then  the darkness took hold of him.

Tanya was upstairs reading to Ericka, when Becky called her to pick up the phone. It was Jimmy. Eric was in an accident and he was being air lifted to the trauma center in the capital.  Jimmy wouldn't say how bad  it was, but by him not saying, Tanya knew that it was pretty bad.  She was just shaking.  She grabbed her purse and keys.
