Chapter 27. His New Obsession

Eric walked into the office and he was in a bad mood.  Jimmy had no more news for him on who that  woman was working for.  The woman  retracted her story that someone paid her $10k to abduct the baby.  Someone must have gotten to her and Jimmy couldn't or wouldn't  tell Eric who talked to her while she was in custody. 

As Eric looked over some paper work, his father walked into his offcice and closed the door.  This meant that  he was in trouble.

"What did I do wrong now?" Eric asked looking up at his father.

Mr. Willbrooks rubbed his beard.  He was in such a hurry to get away from his wife that morning, that he forgot to shave.  

"Your mother said that you shoot some woman on  Whittaker street; is it true?" His father asked.   'My mother? How the fuck would she have news on that; we have kept it all on the down low....no media' 

"Yes I did," Eric said.  His father waited to hear more but Eric said nothing.

"Thats it? Yes you shoot her? Why Eric? Have you gone fucking mad now?" He asked. 

Eric kept working and ignoring his father.  Mr. Willbrooks brought his fist down hard on the desk.  "Look the fuck at me boy when I am talking to you," he shouted.

"Eric pushed the paper work aside.  "Yes I fucking shoot the bitch; she had the fucking nerve to walk into the hospital and abduct my new born daughter," Eric said.  

His father head snapped up.  "Abduct your daughter? Tanya had the baby? Why you never say shit to me?" he asked.

"The baby and Tanya ok?" he asked.  Eric nodded yes.

"What the fuck Eric? You walked about here like every one is your enemy; you dont say shit to me about anything except work," Mr. Willbrook said frustrated at his son.

"I dont trust anyone Dad...Mom has been doing a lot of........underhanded shit and I cant believe that you dont know about them," Eric said.

"What are you talking about? What did she do?" His father asked. 

"This idea of me marrying Mila and combining the businesses, was this all Mom's idea or were you in on it too?" Eric asked.

"That is all your mother's idea; I clearly saw that you were not into Mila and I told your mother  to back off; I never want any of my kids to be stuck in a loveless marriage, regardless of what is at stake; that can be hell on earth," Mr. Willbrooks said.  

"Talk to me Eric; what the hell is eating at you?" Rick asked. 

"I cant get into all of it now, but why dont you ask Mom how she found out that I shot someone and while you are at it, why dont you ask her about the baby's abduction?" Eric said. 

Mr. Willbrooks had to take a seat.  "What are you saying Eric? You think your mother had something to do with that? Abduction of a child is worst than murder on this  island. Do you understand  that could land her in prison for a long time if not for life?" he asked, still not able to get his mind around what Eric just told him. 

"I am saying for you to ask her.  And when was the last time you take a look at your personal bank account? She has been spending a whole lot of money; she has not work a day in her life  outside the house, so she must be getting the money  from you, so I cant help but wonder how you dont know about all the shit she been doing to me....and mine," Eric said.

Mr. Willbrook got up and paced the floor.  It was true; he had given the woman free reign to his money for too long.  He had been a shitty husband to her and  that  was his way of making it up to her....anything money could buy.  "I am sorry Eric ;  It is true that  I dont deny your mother anything she wants that I can afford, but I had no idea she was using the money to do things to  you and Tanya;  can you tell me more?" he asked.
