A.N.:sorry for the wait XD
I was motivated to write. Just for .... something else. That you will probably never see. Because it's for a fandom I do not want to engage with. So it won't even be published.
I needed to deal with that XD
Anyway, I hope you'll like this part ^^
This one focuses on the knights and .... well everyone who wears armor, really.
I want to lighten the different views on Merlin from more than one perspective.
The first chapter was the servants and random knights as well as Arthur. The second chapter was focused on Uther. This one on more familiar knights and from here on out, I still have to focus on the different authorities in Albion as well as druids and magical creatures.
It's gonna be fun. :D
I think Hunith, Morgana and Gwen need their extra chapter as well. Or they will appear in between. I haven't decided yet ^^
But there will be more, I promise ^^
---------------------------------------------------------------
Of all the bizarre things that ever happened in Camelot, none of them had ever lead to Arthur being grounded.
Alright, that's a lie. He has been grounded before, but for the exact opposite reason for what he was punished for now.
Arthur sat in his chambers, tapping the arm rest of his chair. He was staring down the window into the court yard and wondered when Merlin had last cleaned it. It was filthy as hell.
The kind that took months to settle, not days.
He truly wished he could talk to Merlin right now. Not because of the window but because he never before had his father confuse him this much.
But, Merlin wasn't here.
Merlin was the reason for his dilemma.
If Arthur wanted to talk to him, he would have to wait until his servant returned. Now he couldn't even distract himself.
So Arthur had placed his chair to the window and now watched as knights upon knights left and entered the forest. It's been a day. Shouldn't they have found Merlin by now?
Arthur didn't even have it in him to take care of the reports he should have cleared up yesterday.
Slowly, but steadily, the prince grew impatient. Why was it taking them so long?
And why did they all look so nervous and worried?
Ealdor wasn't that far. They should have found him by now.
'Okay fine. If they can't find him, I'll get him myself.', Arthur finally decided and rose from his chair. If he sat here for one more candle mark, he feared he may burst into flames. So he hurried towards his chamber doors and knocked.
"Guards, let me out. I have to talk to my father."
"The king told us not to let you out.", a voice replied, muffled from the wood of the door and the metal of the guard's helmet.
"If he wants to find Merlin, I'm the best tracker he has. Let me go and get him back.", Arthur argued.
The reasoning was ridiculous in his own opinion. Unfortunately, his father was currently working on anything but logic. Arthur would use whatever would work at this point.
"Of course, your majesty. We shall inform the king right away."
Arthur growled. There guards were horrible. Whenever they said: "we'll inform the king right away", it took forever. Depending on how serious the guard guessed the situation was.
With Leon you could at least assume that when HE said it, he actually did inform the king right away. Because Leon rarely used that phrase.
It's what had Arthur so panic just a day ago.
Needless to say, Arthur almost stumbled away from the door, when it was opened almost ten minutes after and Uther stood in the door panting.
Did..... did Uther RUN to get here?
"Arthur, the horses are prepared. I want you to leave immediately."
For a moment Arthur wondered if Uther was even briefed about Arthur's proposal or if Arthur had just been disinherited.
"I beg your pardon?", Arthur asked. He needed an explanation. Was the entire castle going mad?
"You asked to track Merlin down, did you not? Well, your wish has been granted permission. Now hurry, before I change my mind."
Never in his life had Arthur been more certain that his father wouldn't change his mind.
Definitely not this time.
