A.N.:// Hey :) I didn't expect this to be the end, but I think this is a good point to drop the rest. My gf and I are currently about to move, so I haven't really had time to publish/write this sooner. And after this one, I will have to focus on the HP story I'm writing (second chances, in case you like Drarry) and the Klance fic I sort of abandoned three months ago. *cough* ...

By the way, I now have a KoFi account, in case you want to support me. It's just meant as a tip jar, so no pressure. I am reposting my art there now, I divided them by fandom, and also added a sketchbook. In the future, I might open up commissions there, if I have the time :)

Should you be interested in merch, I do have a redbubble. (Link in bio.)

"We need flowers! Not blooming ones, they have to either be wilting or buds!" Merlin had a list and at least five servants who were managing his whole coming out feast.

"But Sire-"

Arthur watched with amusement how Merlin argued with the servants over the preparations. He couldn't fault them for being confused, not when Merlin kept his secret hidden even from them. It was also kind of amazing to see George nearly frothing at the mouth at Merlin's strange requests. Arthur let him do as he pleased. The day was supposed to be perfect, so Merlin had to fret over it.

In the meantime, Arthur played around with the sigil, feeling its intricite design on the otherwise smooth surface against his fingertips. The mere thought of proposing to Merlin filled him with butterflies. He could already feel his heart racing and a giddy smile edging onto his face when he imagined the wedding. Surely, Merlin would be planning that too, and he'd look just like he did at this very moment. Arthur's heart swelled at every nervous complaint, contradicting decision and almost breakdowns.

"I'm telling you, George, this is important! I don't want real dogs, I want dog STATUES. And we need to accomadate for the great dragon and Aithusa, and of course the Wyverns! I can't have this feast without them-"

George looked like he was about to have a stroke. "Is this quite necessary? No offence, but the throne room isn't big enough to keep that many magical creatures-"

Merlin kept pacing from one piece of furniture to another, righting the decoration here and there and picking up clothes. Merlin still hadn't managed to erase all his serving habits yet. It was just one of many things that drove poor George up the wall. "Good thinking, George. We shall have it in the courtyard!" Merlin turned to Arthur. "Is that alright?"

Arthur smiled fondly at him. He only made a small gesture to show his approval and make Merlin relax. Merlin had Arthur wrapped around his little finger. He could make him swoon with a single glance, there was no request or favor Arthur wouldn't want to grant him. And yet, the man still worried that he was overstepping. Merlin cared so much and Arthur loved him for it.

George cleared his throat. "Well then, Sire- if that will be all-"

"For now." Merlin said, looking very tired. "We shall talk again after supper. See to what you can do til then."

George grimaced. "Of course, Sire." Arthur had never seen the man leave a room quicker than at that moment. It almost made him laugh. Who would have thought that Merlin was the cure to George's perfection streak? Arthur, that's who. He'd known from the very beginning.

Merlin sagged onto the bed beside Arthur, nervousness making him jittery and irritated. "Oh god, what if this is too much? Is this too much?"

Arthur rolled his eyes and sat up to slide up behind him, to begin to massage the tenseness out of Merlin's shoulders. He had to remove the neckerchief first, which Merlin surprisingly didn't complain about. Instead, he shrugged off his jacket and leaned into Arthur's hands like he needed the relief. "Merlin, you're doing great. This is a huge step and I am proud of you for taking it."
