AN.:// I know it's been a while. And I am not entirely happy with how this chapter turned out. I alos deleted the entire first concept, which was much longer :D I changed my approach on how to go from here. I hope it will still work out somehow.

Btw. I've been told that my formating skills suck. If you feel that there is stuff I need to work on, feel free to tell me. BUT please also refer to me a way HOW to do it better. Otherwise I won't know how to do it better. I haven't found a guide on line breaks that actually helped. Plus, writing programs kinda... don't always work with me the way I want to. Any tips would be appreciated ^^

ALSO: Trigger warning for this chapter (The warning will be repeated right before the paragraph): Graphic depictions of sexal abuse.

Lol, have fun.

It took Arthur a long time to register the words of the man in front of him. This man was Gorlois, Morgana's father. It had taken him far too long to realise that simple fact. Then again, Arthur had never met the man. He died long before Arthur had the chance to.

Gorlois seemed to mistake the focus of Arthur's irritation. "I understand that it's hard to believe. Nevertheless it's true. I didn't know children could be born without a soul either, but I have consulted with the druids, and this is the answer they gave to me." Only then, did Arthur register that 'my daughter is Morgana' and 'Morgana doesn't have a soul, shouldn't be equally confusing.

Arthur shook his head. "No. I believe you." He said it calm with the same confusion that he felt. Arthur was no liar. Neither was he one to keep secrets. However, for once, he knew he couldn't tell Gorlois everything. He couldn't possibly tell him about the betrayal of his wife, the fact that Morgana was Arthur's sister by blood, the fact that she was Uther's daughter, not Gorlois'. And by extension, Arthur could not tell him about his own displacement in time. Couldn't tell him what he knew or how he knew it. Yet, Arthur wondered. And he wondered, because it raised a hope inside him that he hadn't had in many years. Not since Morgana turned out to be an evil witch. She might not be at fault for it! If Morgana was born without a soul, perhaps this would explain her lack of empathy, her hatred for her own family, her detachment from everyone who used to mean the world to her. She had never seemed to feel fear, at least, in Arthur's eyes.

"May I see her?" The words were out before Arthur had considered them. He did not regret them, though. He wished he could see Morgana one last time. One last tome before he'd only see her corrupted version again.

Gorlois stared at him for a moment. He was deep in thought. "I was going to ask, if you needed shelter. What do you want with my daughter?"

Arthur didn't like the way that was phrased, but he ignored the discomfort that brought with it. "I just thought I might be able to help."

Gorlois looked down."No one can help her." There was a finality to his words that Arthur had not seen coming. "Not even the high priestesses know what's wrong with her. I had the witch look her over. And even she was at a loss at what to do. No one can help her."

"The witch?" Arthur blinked. He had never heard that name before. It sounded like one of those strange titles that Druids loved to give one another. This name sounded ominous, if not prophetic. When Arthur raised his head back to look at Gorlois, the man was regarding him with a question in his eyes.

"The last witch who is permitted to live within the castle. Yet. It won't be long and then she as well will be hunted. She's a resilient one. Not gonna lie." Gorlois sounded almost fond of her.
