"Where the fuck are we going?" That was - all things considered - a reasonable question. Morgana was surprisingly fast for a woman her age. Not to mention she had a child on her arms. It was a strange sight in any case, if Arthur was anyone to judge. Then again, Arthur had witnessed many village women flee with their children on their arms. Perhaps there was another drive in people, once they had someone to protect. Maybe that's what made them faster, stronger and wittier. Still, Arthur was a knight. He SHOULD be faster than her, for all his training.
Perhaps it wasn't how fast she was that made Arthur wonder.
He hadn't seen Morgana care for anything (or anyone in that matter) in quite a long time. That had been long before this whole time travel nonsense had begun. Back, when she was less a crazed old witch and still his sister. Back when he didn't even know of their blood relation.
"Where do you think we're going?", Morgana snarled, as she blasted door for door open, so they could rush through them faster. Arthur was 90% sure she was just showing off. Then again, she DID have a child in her arms and was old and all of the mentioned above considered, she probably wouldn't have the strength to open those heavy wooden doors.
It was a fair reaction, considering Arthur could hear the sound of metal against hard stone coming closer. Uther had called guards on them.
"I don't know! You're the one hasting through these halls all suspicious and mysterious!", he couldn't help but snarl back. She and her stupid black long capes that made her look like a giant purple bat.
The more Arthur considered, the more worried he got. Everyone was looking at them with curious eyes and mistrust in their gazes and shock, obviously, when they shoved them out of the way.
"Back to the fucking tower, Arthur! Do you want me to spell that out for you, so the entire castle knows?" Morgana did yell over their heads in his direction.
Arthur grabbed her arm and pushed her in an alcove, to hide them both from view. The clanging intensified and soon enough, a multitude of guards rushed passed them, not ever thinking of checking the alcoves. It was far too easy to escape them in this castle, Arthur thought, not for the first time.
"Under no circumstances are we going back to hide in that tower!", he hissed at her anyway. The tower was much too far away, for one, but that was not why Arthur's inner alarm was screaming at him to stay away.
"Why? Uther doesn't know where it is!" Morgana was sending him a smug smirk now and alright, Arthur did wonder how she was so certain about that, but he shook his head anyway. Like... that was a whole TOWER.
Arthur blinked. Who was HE to decide what people could overlook or forget as they saw fit? He had forgotten much more obvious shit and he had kept missing Merlin's magic, even though it had been right there in his own memories.
Of course Uther could overlook an entire tower filled with magic and paintings. Later, in Arthur's time, the place would be sealed. But that only meant that Uther was yet to find it then.
Hold on...
A place Uther had yet to find....
"Well, we're not going to risk him finding it then, Morgana." He stared sternly into his sister's eyes and watched her frown.
"And why is that?", she pushed her chin forward, as she used to, back when she always defied him, just to mess with him.
"Have you forgotten who Uther's search parties are hunting out in those woods at this very moment? Under NO circumstances will I risk that Uther finds him." Arthur put as much intensity in his eyes as he ought to, until Morgana's own stare softened.
