"I'm so nervous. Look, my hands won't stop shaking."
I look over at Connor as we were walking through the halls of the school. It was currently six in the morning and we were here early so we could practice more.
It was the day of the performance.
We were all nervous and it showed.
Connor was drinking coffee, shaking the whole time as he was drinking it. I was watching him spill it everywhere when a teacher opened the front doors for us.
All three of us were walking down the hall towards the music classroom. It felt really weird being in here at night since there wasn't many teachers here and it was still kind of dark outside.
"It's like a horror movie. A creature is waiting in the darkness of the hallway. Ready to attack."
I look over at Connor as he kept talking about things in the darkness and Amelia was shaking her head as she was looking at him.
"Pussy."
That made me laugh as we made it to the room and unlocked it from the key that the woman behind the desk gave us.
When we walked in, it was really weird. I looked around and saw a little light coming from the windows but not much.
"Weird." Amelia said as she turned the lights on and everything instantly lit up. "Much better."
"I'm so tired." Connor yawned.
Which made me yawn then I slapped him before walking to the piano and sitting down. I yawned so big that I had tears in my eyes before I wiped them away.
"Fuck. I'm so sleepy."
I didn't sleep much last night cause my mind was constantly running. I kept thinking about Blake and it was driving me crazy.
Yesterday was something I couldn't explain.
I felt something in my chest when I was watching her and if it's what I think it is then I'm a stupid ass for even thinking about that.
But at the same time I want to convince myself that it was in the moment and everything was happening all at one and my mind was acting stupid.
My mind kept me up all fucking night with thoughts of her and it was stupid.
At dinner that night, dad was talking about his day and I kept my eyes on the plate the whole time. I looked up a few times but quickly cause I couldn't even look at her.
I can't understand.
I kept hitting myself last night every time I thought about her and I have a few bruises on my arm from it. I had to wear a sweater today to hide the bruises cause they were bad.
"So.. we gonna start from the beginning or the parts where we're having problems?"
Connor comes over and sits next to me. "I need help on that second verse."
I nodded as I stared at the piano and let my fingers play a few keys before hearing Amelia say my name.
"What?" I look over at her.
"What's up?" She looks at me then the piano.
I shrugged. "Nothing."
"You seem out of it."
"I'm fine." I look back at the piano for a moment.
"Ok.. you're not playing the piano so.. can we start?"
Nodding, I got up after a few moments and stood in front of the mic. I placed it to my height then grabbed the headphones.
I saw Amelia get on the computer before hitting something and walking to drums.
