We're leaving Pete's house after seven long agonizing hours of bad movies.
"Wanna sleep over?" Matt asks.
"Um, yeah sure. Do we have to get up early?" I think I know the answer, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
"Duh, I have work in the morning. But I'll drop you at the train."
I'm not wrong. "Okay. That works."
"Do you want to hang out Monday night?"I'm a little thrown by this because he never asks me to hang out on Mondays. It's his special day where he meets up with old friends from school to reminisce.
"Yeah of course, but don't you usually do stuff with your friends?"
"Joe cancelled, then Amanda too, so we were all like forget it. So now I'm free."
"Oh, that sucks."Though in my mind, I definitely don't think it sucks. I hadn't hung out with him on a non-scheduled day since before we started dating.
"I know. I love Monday nights."
"Yeah..."I wish he loved our nights as much as it seemed he to love all the other things he did in his life.
"What do you think you want to do?"
I am unsure if I should come up with any idea, as he usually shot them down and we ended up doing what he suggested. And it also was a work day the next day. For him that mattered less as he had a more lenient work schedule. But for me, it meant that I was still getting up at 7:00AM to trek to work. And if I stayed with him, it would be 6:00AM.
"Ummm...," I think out loud.
"Let's go to that noodle place you wanted to go to. I'll even stay by you on Monday."'What?', I think to myself. He never offered to do stuff like this. Weirdly, it made me uneasy.
"Really?"
"Yeah, you've been asking me to. Plus, the group cancelled for Tuesday, so I just have to get to work by 1:00PM."
"Um, yeah that works for me." I try not to feel too giddy, but this was the type of stuff I wanted from him.
"Great."Matt and I have a great rest of the night. I hear my message notification go off, but I ignore it this time. Things seem to be going really well right now and I don't want any distractions.
