PROLOGUE
CALIFORNIA TO HAWKINS. Lila Hargrove wasn't necessarily content with her family (and step-family's) decision to move. Though, she had no say in it.
Her mother, the one person who provided true comfort to her, now gone. Now, she was left with Billy Hargrove, her brother, Max Mayfield, her step-sister, Susan and Neil Hargrove.
She never took a liking to her step family. Even if she seemed like she did, it was an act put on that was obviously shown very well. Billy, on the other hand, she had no hard feelings to.
Welcome to Hawkins.
The small town where 'nothing ever happens'. A fresh new start, they said. It will be fun, they said.
What they didn't know, was that in a year's time, at least one of the Hargroves would be dead.
