One month later.

"SINCE THE RELEASE OF THE INCENDIARY TAPE, THE ONCE QUIET TOWN OF HAWKINS, INDIANA HAS SPENT A TIME IN A PLACE IT NEVER EXPECTED. The national spotlight. Under mounting pressure, several high-ranking members from the U.S. Department of Energy have admitted involvement in the death and cover-up of Hawkins resident Barbara Holland who died due to exposure to an experimental chemical asphyxiant, which had leaked from the grounds of the lab. We sent our own April Kline to Hawkins to speak to residents, residents who told us they thought they lived in a safe town. The kind of town where, they say, nothing ever happens."

Lila stopped listening to the tv, putting more of her focus into fixing up her dress for the snow ball. She made her way back into her room, flattening her dress as she did so. It was a bright crimson, from the top of her chest to the top of her knees, flaring out at the bottom. There was a silver strap that circled all the way around her waist, held in place by a cerise bow.

As she finished it, she moved onto her hair, which she flattened down, again, as she made sure it looked alright. Which it did.

Exiting her room, she almost walked into Max, who was ready to leave, just having her hair done by Susan. They weren't really on speaking terms, after the November day. Lila and Max, Lila and Susan. In short, she had nobody to talk to.

As she entered, there was a familiar tension in the air. Max was looking sideways, glaring, causing her to look in that direction too. It was Billy, with an unfamiliar look in his eyes, almost as if it was... regret, or pity. She had never seen that in him before. He continued walking, causing her to sigh, following after him.

"You know, Max probably doesn't hate you. She's most likely just... mad. Or angry. In her defence, you did try to beat up one of her friends apparently." She explained, as he stopped to turn around.

Surprisingly, he chuckled lightly. "Wow, thanks for making me feel better about that." Add that to her list of things she had not expected Billy to say.

Lila cracked a grin. "Well, if you really want to be sure about that, you could offer to drive us to the snow ball?"

He groaned, not wanting to drive. "Nope."

She fought off a smile. "I'll take that as a yes, then. Let me just get my shoes!"

Mike, Will, Lucas, Max and Lila were waiting for Dustin and El to arrive. She spotted him in the distance, pointing at him, which caused the other four to stand up.

"Holy shit. What happened to you?" Mike was the first to speak up about the others' shock.

Dustin was in confusion, oblivious to their eyes glued to his hair. "What do you mean, 'What happened'?"
