❝i hope you won't ever lie to me

-crybaby, the neighbourhood

A SPIRITLESS, PROSAIC DAY. Well, at least she didn't have to deal with seeing the party today just to get left out because of their stupid secrets. That she didn't know were better off to be left uninvolved.

Lila was currently in the living room, watching the shows on the tv as Neil and Susan were out, doing whatever adults their age did. She flickered through the shows, finding each as dull as the last. Or at least the girl did until she found herself repeating the same familiar shows that she had already whizzed by.

Slowing down, she managed to eliminate some she did not want to watch, until she found herself having a mental battle between two shows. Eventually, she decided that they both lacked the interest she needed.

She abruptly shut off the small tv, walking back to her room, she sat on her bed, weighing her decisions. Either, she could continue boring herself to death, until her dead body is discovered, or she could ask Max if she wanted to go out to the arcade despite having attacked her verbally about it a few days ago. However, that would mean that she would have to ask Billy for a ride there.

Lila went with the latter. Obviously.

Getting up from the bed, she walked across the hall to her step-sister's room, not even bothering to knock, harshly opening the door. The manner in which it opened startled her, as she was not expecting anyone.

"Lila! You scared me." She recollected herself, "Didn't mommy ever teach you how to knock?" Her attitude was spiteful, a result of previous events yesterday.

She clenched her jaw slightly, in an attempt not to lash out at her. "Your problem?"

Max tilted her head slightly, "Nothing. Anyway, why are you in here?"

"What I was going to ask you - before you decided to be so rude, was if you wanted to go to the arcade, for once." She explained, mentally deciding that being bored to death was now the better option.

"Oh?" The red-headed girl chuckled, "What happened to me being 'overly-obsessed', what, did it get thrown out of the window or something?"

"Ok, Max, just forget I said that, will you? Plus," A grin slowly crept upon her face, "It's been two days."

"Just this once, Lila." Max started to make the way out of her room.

Maybe after all, the former option was a bad idea. For now, at least.

Sitting in the passenger seat, the rock music that was playing was starting to sound like death to Lila's ears, yet she did not have the balls to turn it off. Maybe not today, since she actually felt like living another day.
