LILA WAS NOW WALKING AROUND HAWKINS MIDDLE SCHOOL WITHOUT A PURPOSE OF BEING THERE. Mike, Will, Dustin and Lucas had already set off, communicating if they needed to. She therefore decided to go around the school, checking out parts that she had not yet seen.
Purpose was not something that she was used to truly having. In her previous school, she had a decent reputation. Yet, that was only because her brother was well-known. That led to her being known as 'Billy Hargrove's sister' rather than 'Lila Hargrove'.
Reaching the assembly hall, she was drawn out of her thoughts when she approached a curly-haired who she had not seen before.
"Uh, hi?" She walked closer to the girl. She snapped her head towards her. "Do we know you?"
"We?" Was her only reply as she tilted her head.
"Yeah, Max, Dustin, Lucas, Will or Mike." The girl leant forward slightly at the mention of the last boy.
"Who are you?"
She cleared her throat, "Lila Hargrove, pleasure to meet you. And you are?"
"El."
"El, is that like short for anything?" The voices in the hall came clearer, it was Mike and Max. She turned to face the hall for a second, and when she turned back around, El was gone, as if she had never been there. Gone like someone fading into mist.
The doors to the hall suddenly burst open, Mike exiting it.
"Mike, I just came across this really weird-looking g-" Lila was cut off when voices came out of Mike's walkie talkie.
"Guys... I found him."
"Where?"
"In the bathroom by Mr Salerno's."
"Copy that." Mike answered. The three made their way over there, to find Dustin, no Dart and no Will.
Lila narrowed her eyes at the way Dustin was standing, covering his cap with his hand. He seemed especially protective of it now, but who was she to judge what adventures Dustin and his cap may have been through? They could have had history.
"Where's Dart?" Mike asked.
"I don't know. Not here." Dustin replied, a bit too fast. Lila, a girl who lied a lot, could also tell when people were lying.
"Will specifically said that here was here, though." She intervened. As soon as the sentence left her mouth, she noticed that they were missing a person.
