WHILE ELEVEN GOT CLOSER, THE RUMBLES OF THE THUNDER AND HOWLS OF THE WIND GREW LOUDER. It caused her to walk in a manner where she looked like she was attempting not not be thrown back by the force of the wind.

She looked up, observing the speckles of white that flew through the air. Eleven dragged her hand through it, watching as it was affected by her movements. Opening her palm, she sent a questioning glance, a million questions wanting to be asked.

Though, her train of thought derailed when a man shouting in the distance appeared. "Lila! Stop there!" A man ran towards a little girl, Lila. He grabbed her arm, causing her to stop running from him. "What the hell is wrong with you? Why can't you be more like your brother, huh? You gotta surf, not make some crappy paper stuff all the time, or you'll never get anywhere!"

She stammered, "I- I know."

"Wait." He leaned in closer, "You don't want to risk getting hurt? Is that it?"

"No." She denied, wiping her face and using her hat to cover her eyes.

He scoffed, "Well then what is it? Then what? What? What did I raise, a scared bitch for a daughter?"

Lila had enough, and ran off, shouting. "Get away from me!" As she did, El noticed that she had dropped something resembling a newspaper.

"Hey!" Her father shouted. "That's right, run like you always do!"

What he didn't see, was El sending him a harsh glare as she ran after her young friend, who couldn't see her either.

He bent down to pick up the left newspaper, and he slapped the sand off it on his knee as lightning crackled simultaneously.

Walking through the storm, Eleven followed Lila's retreating figure, until it was completely concealed by the dust clouds. She followed where she went, to see yet another memory.

"Where were you last night? Where were you?" The same man asked, his voice filled with anger.

A woman spoke, her voice shaky. "I told you, I was with Wendy."

"Stop lying to me!" He shouted.

El turned around to find where the source of the voices were coming from. Her eyes widened when she spotted it. Lila's dad had a firm grip on her mother's arm. The two younger siblings, her and Billy, were sat at the dining table, watching the encounter.
