~Snowpoint City~
After sharing a room due to the abundance of trainers checking into the lodge, the pair arrived at the Snowpoint City Pokémon Center the next morning. Isaiah hardly slept as his mind was focused on the upcoming gym battle against the ice-type gym leader, Candice. Half of his team didn't match up too well versus ice-types. Even Gastrodon wouldn't appreciate taking a Freeze-Dry. He couldn't afford to lose a gym challenge this late, not when he just cracked the top ten.
Alisha offered to help him train at Lake Acuity where the snow is thick and hail is falling. She figured it would be best to get his team accustomed to the weather before the battle. Isaiah agreed but she would only assist him on one condition.
All he could do was shake his head while the video call continued to ring. Isaiah hoped his father would be too busy to answer, but that wasn't the case this time. Marshal answered the call and lit up with glee when he saw his son.
"My boy! I was wondering when you would call your old man again!" Marshal exclaimed through the call.
"Shhh not so loud, geez," Isaiah complained. Alisha covered her mouth and chucked at Isaiah's embarrassment. She found it cute how he interacted with his dad. In doing so, her laughter caught the attention of the elite four member.
"Oh, my apologies I didn't see you there. I don't believe we've met before." Marshal looked over at his son, "Isaiah?"
Alisha nudged him to introduce her to his father. This was the one condition he had to do if he wanted to train before his gym challenge.
"Dad," Isaiah started, "this is my friend, Alisha. She's been traveling with me throughout Sinnoh." Marshal raised a single eyebrow and a sly grin appeared on his face. Marshal glanced at his son then at Alisha and he noticed there was some attraction between them.
"Alisha," Isaiah lightly bit his fist, "this is my dad—"
"A pleasure to meet you. I'm—"
"You're Marshal! One of the elite four in Unova, of course, I know who you are!" Alisha smiled deeply, she had never once met a single gym leader in Unova, let alone someone from the elite four. "Your Conkeldurr is crazy strong!"
Marshal paused for a second before exploding with laughter.
"Hahaha, a lively one she is!" Marshal crossed his arm and nodded his head in approval. "Are you a trainer as well?"
Alisha made a fist and nodded rapidly, "uh-huh, yes sir. Six badges and currently ranked 14."
"Hiyaa, impressive! What a fine trainer you're becoming, but please call me Marshal."
Isaiah couldn't believe that they were actually hitting it off. He was still slightly embarrassed but more so relieved.
Marshal covered one side of his mouth and leaned into the camera, "you were right she is pretty, a real catch son," he whispered then winked.
