~Eterna City~
Isaiah stayed in Eterna City for another day at the Trainer's Inn. He was meeting Alisha on route 207 at noon so they can travel to Hearthome City together. She had defeated Roark convincingly, losing only her Quilava to Tyrunt's Ancient Power attack. Her Mawhile and Marill took care of the rest.
Isaiah looked at the egg laying on the soft sheets of the blanket as he got dressed. He didn't want to be seen toting it around looking like Chansey and Blissey. Isaiah also didn't have a fire type with the ability, 'Flame Body', to help with the hatching process either. He would most likely have to buy an incubator, which he wasn't too fond of either.
As he collected his thoughts, the PBLN ( Pokémon Battle League Network) were giving their opinion on Sinnoh's new ranking and format system. The other regions could adopt the new format depending on the feedback from Sinnoh. The analysts continued talking about the possibility of Unova converting over to the rank system as early as next year.
Isaiah pulled out his Xtranceiver and navigated to Alisha's contact info. He contemplated calling her to ask about egg incubators but was interrupted by the television.
"The most anticipated time of the hour has finally come folks, the very first PLSA Trainer Rankings are in!" An enthusiastic scrawny, fair-skinned man announced.
His beady eyes almost popped out of his head, from his ever-growing excitement. Isaiah's head snapped towards the screen immediately. Images of trainers all over Sinnoh appeared in order from 50 and below. He wasn't one to like attention, but he hoped for a modest ranking.
He didn't see his face anywhere, as the numbers continued to dwindle: 39, 38, 37, 36... Was he even ranked? Isaiah began to second guess his abilities as a trainer. Maybe he underestimated the competition in Sinnoh. Isaiah finished getting dressed but kept his eyes glued to the program.
His Xtranceiver began to ring, he looked down to see his father's picture. Isaiah sent the call to voicemail, while another wave of trainers passed through 32, 31, 30... Alisha!
Isaiah smiled at her PLSA picture, she held a serious gaze that popped out at him. Alisha was ranked 30 and Isaiah was very ecstatic for her. He picked up his phone to congratulate her, but he decided to at least wait until the list concludes.
The list went on into the high twenties and Isaiah has yet to see his position among his peers. Maybe he didn't get ranked after all. He didn't seem himself getting anywhere in the top 20 so he just ruled himself out.
Isaiah recognized some people from the S.S Unova Royal had made the rankings, much to his surprise. The analysts talked about a few of the trainers as they appeared, as well as the badges they have earned so far into their journey. The program didn't hesitate in showing more rankings, now heading into the top 20 trainers: 18, 17, 16... There he was!
