~Jubilife City~
The group arrived at the Jubilfe City Pokémon Center an hour later. Isaiah reiterated the plan once again and thanked Pearl and Platinum for their help before they flew off to Canalave City.
Isaiah looked around the streets of the bustling city and took in the sights. It seemed like forever ago since he passed through here before starting his journey. He hadn't battled since his Pastoria City gym challenge and he was itching to do so.
"There's so much to do in Jubilife, but I didn't explore the city last time I was here," Isaiah said.
Alisha stood on his right side as they walked along the sidewalk closely. She occasionally looked off in the distance to avoid locking eyes with him. Alisha tried to focus her mind on her Pokémon and the task at hand, but she wanted to make a great impression on Isaiah's mom.
They continued north of Jubilife while Isaiah made mental notes of the places he would like to visit later. He made sure to keep his eyes and ears open for any impromptu battle challenges. Students from the trainer school battled in the corners of the city with their stage one or baby Pokémon.
Memories of his time with Alder's Training School flooded his mind. Ashton, as well as all the other younger kids, really looked up to him back then. They challenged Isaiah and Aipom nearly every day, trying to see who could be the first one to beat him. None of them were successful, but he snickered at the thought.
"What's funny?" Alisha asked with a slight smile.
"Nothing, just thinking about some old stuff," Isaiah replied. He pointed ahead, "the apartment building is coming up." The large burgundy brick layered building sat on the Far East side of the city, just before the road of route 203 began.
"Cool, we're nearly there," Alisha's voice faltered.
Isaiah glanced at her, "no need to be nervous, my mom doesn't ask a lot of questions."
"What? I'm not nervous," she pouted.
Isaiah laughed, "whatever you say. Besides, you're just a friend so it's not that big of a deal."
"Yup, good friends," Alisha mumbled to herself.
Isaiah started to get a strange feeling in his gut about his surroundings. Jubilife City was usually more busy at all times of the day. He tosses the thought aside and continued towards his mom's place.
Isaiah knocked on the door once, then twice...no answer. Alisha looked around and down the hall.
"Um, are you sure this is your mom's apartment?" She asked.
"Of course I'm sure this is the right one," he replied. Isaiah scratched his head, "maybe I should've called first but I thought I'd rather surprise her."
Isaiah knocked again, still no answer. He scratched his chin, "I guess we're heading to the GTS."
Alisha drew her eyebrows together, "what's at the GTS?"
