~Hotel Grand Lake~They sat in the lobby of Sinnoh's most popular resorts, the Hotel Grand Lake. It took up a vast portion of route 213 and some of the Valor Lakefront. To go along with traditional rooms, the more expensive rooms were small cottages spread out along the grounds. The resort was also home to the Seven Stars Restaurants.
A receptionist was generous enough to heal their Pokémon, while they watched the PBLSA on the flat-screen television. Alisha got a notification on her phone that the rankings will be updating very soon, so she wanted to tune in.
Isaiah dialed in Pearl's contact and waited for him to pick up.
"Ah, Isaiah, I've been meaning to talk to you! It's about what Team Xûl stole from Hearthome City." Pearl exclaimed before Isaiah could get a word in.
"Yeah, there's something I have to tell you as well! Uh, you go first," Isaiah replied.
"You've been in Unova long enough to know about the training feathers right?"
Isaiah nodded his head, "what of them?" His eyes peeked at the tv as they began to reveal the new rankings.
"The prize they stole, was a full set of pristine training feathers!"
Isaiah's brow furrowed, "pristine?"
Pearl held up one finger, "yes, they're rare man-made feathers with a much greater effect on a Pokémon than the regular ones."
"I mean, they can only use it on Pokémon, so—"
Pearl grabbed at his blonde hair, "exactly! Well, it's not much to go on but it's a start!"
Isaiah glanced around the nearly empty lobby, making sure there weren't anyone eavesdropping. He leaned in closer to the Xtranceiver.
"Okay, but those feathers can be used on any Pokémon. What if they're giving us the slip and apply them to something useless, like Metapod." He lowered his voice almost to a whisper.
Pearl scratched his head, "I doubt they would waste their time stealing something so valuable and use it on Metapod."
Isaiah leaned back on the couch, "what now? Any intel on where they'll strike next?"
Pearl shook his head, "not a clue, but Diamond and I will be heading to Oreburgh City to meet with the miners. Maybe I can find out what they took from there. Hopefully, it gives us a lead."
Isaiah rubbed his chin, "that's a good idea." He looked up at the tv, the top 30 ranked trainers were shown.
"What is it you wanted to tell me?"
Isaiah spoke up, "oh yeah," he began. Isaiah proceeded to recollect everything that ensued at Lake Valor and their encounter with the legendary Pokémon and lake guardian, Azelf.
