~Veilstone City Gym~
After sweeping through the gym trainers, Isaiah stood across from his final opponent on the battlefield. Maylene's grin was more than what Isaiah needed to know about how she felt. He knew she was absolutely pumped for this battle and so was he.
A slim shaped female wearing a white lab coat stopped in the center of the battlefield. "This battle will be limited to a four versus four," she started. Her hand lifted up on Maylene's side, "the Veilstone City gym leader, Maylene." She paused before raising the hand corresponding to Isaiah, "the challenger from Jubilife City, Isaiah Wright."
Isaiah pokéballs began to lightly shake with excitement on his waist. Maylene held on to her pokéball and Isaiah followed suit.
"Alright, Meditite, come on out!" Maylene tossed out her first pokémon.
'Meditite (Fighting-Psychic Type), the meditate Pokémon. Meditite undertakes rigorous mental training deep in the mountains. However, whenever it meditates, this Pokémon always loses its concentration and focus. As a result, its training never ends.'Isaiah stared at his pokéball before exhaling, "Dratini, time for battle."
Dratini materialized onto the battlefield across from Meditite. He knew he couldn't keep Dratini from actual battles, but he began to worry because of its stubbornness.
"Field effect activate!" The judge shouted. An orange aura bust surrounded Meditite; its attack and defense were raised by one stage. "Began!"
[MUSIC]
"Meditite, use Detect!"
"Dratini, Agility!"
Meditite shielded itself in a shimmering glow to protect itself from any oncoming attack. Dratini slithered in circles rapidly, to increase its speed by two stages.
"Water Pulse, hit it Dratini!" A sphere of high speed moving water focused around its nose before it soared forward.
"Go through it with Force Palm, Meditite!"
