~Trophy Garden~Alisha woke up early the next morning to train her Pokémon in the mansion's famous trophy garden. It was home to many Pokémon, some of them being a rare encounter anywhere else. Mr. Backlot had closed his manor to visitors for the time being, so Alisha had it all to herself. She remembered what Garrett had said to Isaiah after their battle. She wondered if it also applied to her. Was she losing her competitive edge against Isaiah? She aspired to be the number one ranked trainer as well. Can she really beat him in a serious battle?
"Gotcha," Alisha felt relieved when the heal pokéball finally stopped shaking. She picked up the ball and held it in a tight grip. Isaiah stood on the side with his arms folded and she couldn't get the thought out of her mind. She wanted a serious battle with him to test her abilities as a trainer.
"Isaiah?" She asked, staring at her pokéball.
"Yeah?"
"There's something that's been on my mind and I've been struggling to find the answer."
Isaiah yawned, still feeling groggy from his sleep. "Hm, is there anything I can do to help?"
She sighed, "in fact, there is." She faced Isaiah while avoiding looking into his eyes. "I want to have a serious battle."
"A battle? That's it? Let's go then, it's been a while since we battled," he said with a smile on his face. Alisha was all business, and he took his place opposite her.
"What are your rules then?" He teased and joked with a low bow.
"Just a regular three on three battle. You can use whoever and switch whenever." She cracked her knuckles.
Isaiah nodded his head, "sounds simple enough, I'm ready whenever you are."
Alisha took in a deep breath and exhaled, "on the count of three, we throw out our first Pokémon."
"1...2...3!"
"Come out, Togetic!"
"Pawniard, time for battle!"Their Pokémon materialized on the lush garden simultaneously. Togetic's small wings flapped swiftly, floating above the grass. Pawniard sharpened its arm blade then pointed at the happiness pokémon. The battle was already in Isaiah's favor because of Pawniard's typing advantage.
"Return. Come out, Quilava."
"Come back. Let's go, Shellos."Both trainers switched out their initial leads in unison. Once again, Isaiah had the typing advantage. He had yet to battle with Shellos until now. Last time it was Pawniard on the losing end against Alisha's Marill. He was determined not to make the same mistake twice.
"How did you—" Her voice trailed off.
Isaiah smirked, "I don't think you want to risk losing Togetic so soon. The same applies to Quilava, who are you switching to next?"
