Pearl paced back and forth impatiently outside of the café. He mumbled and whispered to himself, getting glances and stares from anyone that passed by. He perked up at the sound of footsteps that headed in his direction, only to be disappointed. Both of his childhood friends were back in Sinnoh and there was much to be discussed.
Pearl disciplined himself not to get his hopes up at another set of footsteps coming his way. He continued his pacing with his arms folded.
"Why are pacing?" A familiar voice asked.

"Where's Platinum?" Pearl asked while looking around his friend.
"Oh, Plat had to stop by Sandgem Town to see her mom. She should be here soon," Diamond replied. Pearl glared at Diamond, waiting for his face to blush or show some kind of emotion. It was no secret amongst them that he crushed on Platinum. Even she knew herself, yet he made no move.
"You still haven't told her, have you?" Pearl asked with his arms folded.
"Told her what?" Diamond avoided eye contact with Pearl.
"Dude, that was one of the reasons why I left Unova earlier than you. To give you guys some space," Pearl said while flailing his arms around. Diamond scratched the back of his head and looked down at the concrete.
"It's not as easy as you think Pearl, besides we had work to do," Diamond said in his own defense. Pearl wagged his finger.
"You better hurry up before she's taken by someone else," Pearl shrugged his shoulders. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone you cried" he said jokingly. Diamond grabbed Pearl into a headlock and begin lightly knocking on his head. Bystanders gave the boys dirty looks at their public childish display.
