~Snowpoint City~ *Pokémon Center*
Isaiah sat in an empty booth in the Pokémon Center taping his foot anxiously as he waited for Alisha. Neither Pearl nor Platinum was answering his calls or responding to his texts. He knew it was a long shot but he called Diamond...no answer. Soon enough Alisha came strolling through the automated doors with a rattled demeanor. She spotted Isaiah by his lonesome as they briefly locked eyes while she approached the booth.
"What do you mean they invaded Twinleaf? H-how do you know?" Isaiah whispered.
Alisha inspected their surroundings before speaking, "Platinum got a call from Pearl, he got a call from Diamond...who also received a call from Professor Rowan?"
"And?" Isaiah asks impatiently.
"Professor Rowan was outback studying the starters when all of sudden they fell into a deep sleep. Immediately everything went dark and he rushed into the lab to check the power readings on his monitor. That's when he noticed a huge spike in power similar to that of a certain Pokémon from years ago...then the call cut out."
Isaiah drew his eyebrows together, "what Pokémon would that be?"
Alisha leaned in closer, "Darkrai."

~Team Xûl Cobra Airship Kobra~
Pluto stared at the contained mythical Pokémon, wires connecting from a large cannon to the tube. Darkrai continued to attack the tubular prison with enraged Dark Pulses. Its futile attempts only amused Team Xûl's leader.
"Soon we will give you a sample of your missing power," Pluto spoke to the Pokémon. "With your power to put anything in the state of a never ending sleeping nightmare, combined with the ability to harvest energy from those subjected to it, no one will stand in our way." Pluto walked over to the cannon tracing his hand over its sleek black and red design, branded with the Team Xûl logo"Especially when we amplify that power by tenfold, we will make you stronger. We will Team Xûl stronger."
Darkrai fired off a volley of Dark Pulses that made Pluto laughed.
"You will thank me in due time, Darkrai."
Vraxx, followed by a group of Xûl grunts, entered the room on the lower deck where Pluto had his back facing them.
"Boss, we're directly above Sandgem Town. Should we strike here?" Vraxx asked eagerly.
Pluto's devilish smile angered the pitch black pokémon, "position the cannon..."
Four grunts positioned the amplifier cannon over the hatch on the center floor. The cannon was fitted into place and lowered under the Kobra airship above the small town.
