~Route 204~
Isaiah and Alisha separated themselves from the group once they exited the cave. Everyone quickly made their way to Jubilife City, while the two pushed onward to Floroma Town. Alisha had never seen such beautiful flowers before on any route.
Occasionally she would get a closer look with Mawhile by her side. After Mawhile devoured the first few, it slowly learned to appreciate the delicate life of a flower. Alisha even went as far as exchanging petals with her Pokémon.
They walked along route 204, taking on any trainer that challenged them to a battle. Isaiah would watch and take mental notes of Alisha's style for future battles. Little did he know she was also doing the same thing.
Alisha returned her Mawhile after it easily bested a Weepinbell. That was the third battle she won in a row without really breaking a sweat. He chalked up his loss to her based on the fact that Pawniard was newly caught. Maybe that wasn't the case. Alisha caught Mawhile on Iron Islands as well.
From the battles he saw and his past battle with her, he realized Alisha is actually a good trainer. Had she got the chance, she probably could've defeated Roark on her first try. He gained a newfound respect for her just from that alone.
"Hey, Isaiah? Isaiah?" Alisha called out while snapping her fingers.
"Y-yeah?" He replied hastily.
She raised an eyebrow, "you spaced out for a second," she said.
"O-oh I was thinking about the next gym challenge," he lied but could tell she believed him. Alisha ran her fingers through her short ravenette colored hair.
"Im looking forward to it as well. These trainers on route 204 aren't exactly cutting it," she said while clipping her pokéball on her waist.
"I agree, but every battle helps. We should be close to Floroma Town, I can see the roof of the Pokémon Center from here." He pointed in the direction of the large orange building.
She nodded her head and walked slightly behind him. They stayed on a path where they could avoid going into the tall grass. The clear path wouldn't last the entire way into Floroma, but they were both out of repels.
"I have a question," Alisha says bluntly.
"Hmm, alright. Ask away" Isaiah replied.
"I know you defeated Roark, but with Aipom and Pawniard that couldn't have been enough to beat him."
Isaiah looked up from the ground, "you're right about that."
"Which brings me to my question... Who did you pick as your starter?" She said quickly with her face only inches away from his.
Isaiah laughed, "you're still on this?" He continued to laugh while she glared at him.
"What? Is that too much to ask of you Isaiah? Come on... Who did you choose?" She continued to pressure him.
