Liza pov
"Mads, you've been told you aren't allowed here. What are you doing?" Landon asked, pulling away from Finn.
"Because I came to be with my boyfriend. I'm allowed to do that." She rolled her eyes as she pushed past him and Finn and sat down on Jaden's lap.
"Who's that?" Finn asked as they sat down next to me.
"B-tech barbie." I mumbled back causing them to laugh.
"What's so funny?" She screeched out.
"None of your fucking business. I'm talking to my brother, not you." I spat at her.
"Baby who's he?" She asked Jaden.
"They Mads." He corrected. "Finn uses they/them pronouns. And they are Liza's younger brother." He explained.
"Mads, you've been told you can't be here. You need to leave right now before I call security." Landon threatened.
"Landon, just leave her. Just for today." I may not like her, but I don't want him to cause a scene in front of Finn.
"You sure?" He asked.
"Yeah."
"Anyway. They/them? That's a bunch of bullshit. You can only identify as he/him, or she/her. And judging by the look of you, you're a he/him." Mads dismissed.
"You fucking what?" I shouted as I stood up and looked at her. I'm regretting saying she could stay.
"What?" She scoffed.
"Landon, can you show Finn all the guitars your dad and Kells have collected over the years? Now." I demanded as I looked at him.
"Yeah sure. Come on Finn, let's go." He agreed as he opened the door.
"Okay." They agreed as they followed him out.
"What the actual fuck makes you think you can say that to them?" I shouted as the door shut.
"Oh stop. You're being dramatic. HE can't identify as they/them because HE is a boy. They/them doesn't exist. It's just people being brainwashed to think that it's a real thing. God created two genders: HE and SHE." She defended.
"You see Mads, that's just wrong." Jaden defended as he moved her off his lap. "Finn can identify as whatever they want. As long as they're staying true to themselves, it shouldn't matter to you who they identify as. It's then down to you to respect their choices." He elaborated as he moved away from her.
"You can't be serious Jaden. You're siding with this slutty hoebag over me? Really?" She scoffed.
"First off, I'm not a slutty hoebag-"
"And second off, yes. I am siding with her, because you're the one in the wrong." Jaden cut me off.
"No I'm not. He can't identify as whatever he wants to because he decided to." She rolled her eyes as she picked her nail.
"They can identify as whatever the fuck they want. And you are going to sit there and respect the decision they made. Now, you are going to stop calling them he and him otherwise, you're gonna wish Landon did call security on you by the time I'm done." I threatened as her eyes widened at me.
"Oh please. You didn't do shit to me last time. You won't do shit to me this time." She rolled her eyes at me.
"Last time you didn't insult my fucking brother. You insulted me. When you come for my family it is a completely different fucking story. Don't even try me right now because I won't hesitate to drag your ass." I was so angry I could feel the veins in my neck becoming visible.
"Okay, I think you both just need to calm down a li-"
"You see, you're calling him your brother. That means he's a he."
I walked over to her and slapped her. She gasped and held her cheek as she dramatically started crying. She got up and ran straight to Jaden who was just stood there stunned. I rolled my eyes at how pathetic she was being and went to grab my bags.
"No wait. Liza, you don't have to leave. Mads you need to leave. I told you the other day what Travis wants and you broke it. You were lucky that Liza said that you could stay, but then you disrespected her brother. Get the fuck out and go home." He grumbled as he pushed her off of him.
"But baby, she hit me. Are you really going to let her stand there and hand out with the imbecile that hit your girlfriend?" She questioned, making her voice sound ridiculous from her fake crying.
"You've always told me you can fight your own battles when it comes to other men hitting on you. So you can fight your own battles when it comes to women hitting you." He replied smugly.
"Fucking hell. Fine." She screeched as she stopped crying. "You'll be hearing from my lawyer." She threatened as she walked over and slammed the door shut.
"I make over triple the amount you make but sure. Run me for my fucking money, see what happens bitch." I mumbled as I dumped my bag down and left to go find Landon and Finn.
"Hey, Liza. I'm really sorry about her. I don't know what's gotten into her, but what she did was completely out of order an-"
"Jae look, don't apologise on her behalf. You haven't done anything wrong so you don't need to say sorry. It's her that owes the apology and I can count on every dime I have she's not going to. Look, I'm fine, Finn is fine so she really hasn't done as much damage as she thought she was going to." I laughed as we rounded the corner.
"I know, but still. I just don't understand why she can't respect hi- I mean, their decision." He corrected.
"A lot of people don't respect it. Some people don't understand it, so their confusion or use of the improper pronouns is half forgiven. But there are a lot of people who are and will be a lot worse than your bible bashing barbie doll. Which is why I try to protect Finn as much as I can. But I can't always be there, so eventually they will have to learn." I shrugged as he laughed at how I described Mads.
"Well, you're a great big sister to them." He complimented as we opened the door to the room where Travis keeps all his guitars.
