Liza pov
"Yes Jaden, I promise I'm fine. You want a run down of the plans I have for today?" I laughed down the line as I sat on my bed.
"Yes I would actually." I had to laugh at the way he said it because I could almost see him nodding in desperation.
"I've just had a shower, once I'm done with this call I'll dry my hair and then the locksmith is due to arrive. He'll come and change the locks and then I've got to work through some lyrics I've been stuck on." I explained, hearing is noises of approval come from the other side of the line.
"Your day sounds boring, you should let me come over and spend it with you." I had to roll my eyes at his attempt in trying to convince me.
"No, you need to get this recording done. Come on, you've only got two songs left and then your entire album is finished. You're so close to finishing and I promise once these two days over you can spend as much time as you want with me." I went on as I kept hearing him sigh.
"Okay, but only because of that promise. I've gotta go because Travis is dramatically tapping his wrist in a desperate attempt to get me off the phone." He laughed as I did too, imagining Travis doing exactly that.
"Okay, I'll talk to you later."
"Bye Lizzie."
"Bye Jae."
I took the phone away from my ear and placed it down on the counter. I was sat in front of my mirror with the darkness surrounding me. I have yet to turn my light on, and I refuse to lift my blinds. I may be slightly at ease due to the knowledge that my locks are being changed, but I will not give anyone the opportunity to take photos like the ones they did.
I got up and walked over to my light switch, flipping it and making my eyes scream in agony as the bright light flooded the room. I sighed, gripping onto my towel tightly as I walked past the window to get to my closet. They're all covered in paper and the blinds are drawn, but I still can't help the flinch every time I walk past.
I pulled a pair of sweatpants up my legs and yanked a hoodie over my head. I didn't bother with a bra because one, they're uncomfortable, and two, the hoodie was Jaden's so it didn't exactly hug close to my body. I slowly trudged my way over to the vanity.
I've never been one to like actively drying my hair. The sound used to scare me as a child and it was just something I never jumped to do as I grew older. It was only because Jaden insisted I let him dry my hair when I get out of the shower that I've started doing it myself.
By the time I had finished actually drying my hair, my patience had run thin with it. I put the dryer down, picking my phone up and making my way out of my room, making sure to turn the light off. I was just about to start cooking some food when someone had knocked at the door.
I grabbed my bat and made my way over to the door. It was probably just the locksmith but I didn't want to take any chances just in case. I stood up against the door and looked through the peephole to see two men stood outside. My grip tightened on the bat before I moved my head to look down and I saw the bags full of tools.
"Hi." I greeted as I opened the door, placing my bat down out of their view.
"You're Liza Boeman, right? You've asked for your locks to be changed?" The older of the two men asked me.
"Yes that's correct, come in." I confirmed, moving more out of the way.
"Thank you. I have an apprentice here with me. I hope you don't mind." He noted, pointing to the younger man who has finally looked up at me. No.
"Hi Liza." He smiled at me.
"Of course, that's not a problem. I'll leave you to changing it. Just come and find me once you're done and I'll pay you." I spoke directly to the other man, ignoring Josh.
"Okay. Thank you." I smiled at him before leaving to go back to my room.
I decided I was just going to start early on this song writing I had to do. I'm close to finishing my album and I only need two more songs. I've got the ideas, I just haven't written them yet.
After almost an hour, I had a few lines written for a song I'm gonna call In The Name Of Love.
Travis and Landon had both suggested that I have at least one song dedicated to my love. I didn't realise it, but it was like I was writing to someone. I only managed to write the first chorus, but it really felt like I was writing to someone. Jaden.
"Excuse me?" Oh great, now this bastard knows the inside of my place.
"Yeah?" I asked, letting out a sigh as I turned in my chair to face him.
"Oh, we're uh, we're done now. So if you wanna come and pay us that'd be great." Was all he said before walking off.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my purse. I didn't know if he wanted me to pay cash or card so I grabbed both just in case. When I was making my way out, I noticed how Josh seemed to know my place well, as if it wasn't his first time here. It made me uncomfortable to think about, but I just assumed it was something easy to figure out.
"Hey, how much is it?" I asked the older guy as he was packing away tools.
"Oh, not a lot. Just 150 will do." He replied with a smile. Damn, $75 and hour? I'm in the wrong profession.
"Here you go. And thank you so much." I smiled, pulling out the cash.
"You're very welcome. Have a nice day." He smiled back before walking out the door, taking Josh with him.
Thank fuck for that.
