"Do you think she's going to press charges on him?" He asked, flipping down on the couch at the back of the kitchen.

"Honestly, I don't know. I don't think she would." I shrugged. It really does depend with Liza.

"I mean she didn't last time, maybe she's changed her mind." He shrugged before his eyes quickly went wide when he realised what he said.

"What do you mean other time? What the fuck do you know?" I asked, getting somewhat angry that he didn't tell me. But neither did she.

"I- fuck. I can't say. She practically begged me not to." He answered, already looking really guilty.

"No. You told me she didn't say anything to you." I accused.

"Yeah. I know what I said. She begged me not to say anything. I wasn't supposed to fucking say anything." He answered, not actually answering the question.

"She's gonna hate you either way. You're the only other person that knows about it, except for maybe Marley, but he doesn't really count in this situation. It's either you tell me, or I'll ask her myself." I threatened.

"I know she's gonna hate me. But I respect her privacy, and it's not my fucking place to tell you about something she clearly didn't trust you enough to tell." He shot back.

"Trust me enough?" I asked in complete disbelief.

"Yes- look. Don't you ever stop to think that while to you, your over-protectiveness seems kind and caring, but to her it seems scary and daunting?" He proposed.

"What are you talking about?"

"Landon, you're too overprotective of her. Yes at times it's nice to know someone cares for you that much. Believe me, that's one of the best feelings in the world. But to the other person, it's something terrifying. She doesn't know how you're gonna react to situations like this so she doesn't fucking tell you when they happen. She needs a friend, someone she can trust to open up to. Not someone who's gonna grill her for questions the moments she brings it up." He explained.

"I just wanna keep her safe." I sighed, my voice breaking slightly.

"I don't need you to keep me safe."

"I mean she didn't last time, maybe she changed her mind." He didn't.

I was going to come downstairs and apologise to Landon for acting the way I was. I know he just wants to make sure I'm not bombarded by the paps and is looking out for my mental health. I just don't always want to be made to feel small by him when he makes decisions for me without asking me.

Why the fuck did he say that? I told him that in confidence and I asked him to keep it to himself. Why? Out of all the things he could've said, why did he have to say that?

"Landon, you're too overprotective of her. Yes at times it's nice to know someone cares for you that much. Believe me, that's one of the best feelings in the world. But to the other person, it's something terrifying. She doesn't know how you're gonna react to situations like this so she doesn't fucking tell you when they happen. She needs a friend, someone she can trust to open up to. Not someone who's gonna grill her for questions the moments she brings it up." Yes!

"I just wanna keep her safe." Hearing the way his voice broke made me want to cry. I never wanted him to worry about me this much.

"I don't need you to keep me safe." I stated as I stepped out into the kitchen. "Look, Landon, I love that you want me to be safe, but you can't always be there to keep me safe. You can't always be there to protect me if things get bad." I explained to him.

"But your like my little sister. I see you the way that I see Bama, and I just want to keep you close so you aren't in any danger." He argued. I was watching him intently, noticing the subtle gloss across his eyes.

"I know you do. But you can't. That's what you need to understand. Jaden's right. Sometimes I need to just talk to you without you going ape-shit. I just need you to sit and listen. You've got to understand that sometimes I don't want to answer a million questions that are undoubtedly going to come up, I just want to be able to talk to you." I elaborated.

"Okay. Okay fine, I'll back up a little." He agreed, sighing deeply as he did. "But. There's just a few things I wanna know first." Fuck sake Jaden.

"What do you wanna know?" I sighed, knowing there was no way out of it.

"Has something like this happened before?" He asked, all seriousness in his tone.

"Yes, it has happened before. Twice before to be exact." I nodded, watching his face drop.

"Who?"

"Landon-"

"I'm not gonna go ape shit. I just wanna know who it was." He interrupted my protests.

"Okay fine. The first time it happened was Gabe. I know I told you I lost my virginity at some random party, but I lied. I lost it to Gabe in his basement. And the second guy I didn't even know. It happened at a party and I had no idea what was going on. I was completely unconscious during it, but not drugged so I could figure it out pretty well the next day." I explained, watching him rest his head on his hands that were glued to each other.

The silence in the air was thick. I was watching Landon, trying to figure out his reaction, and he was just sat there taking in everything that I had said. Jaden was sat on the sofa still, looking down at the floor, knowing that this was his fault at its basics.

"Can I ask you something?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"What?" I asked, looking over at him.

"Are you gonna press charges?"
