Liza pov

"You okay? You seem kinda off." Finn stated as they took a sip of their drink. No I'm not.

"Look Finn, there's something I need to tell you. But you aren't going to like it." I warned, watching their eyebrow peak.

"Go on." I hesitated slightly, not wanting to ruin a peaceful end to the day, but they deserve to know.

"So I need you to not get mad at me, because I am so sorry that you're being dragged into this shit-"

"Liza, you're scaring me. Just tell me what's going on." They half laughed.

"Mads knows. About us, about our family situation. Basically she knows we're foster kids. And she's decided that she's gonna put it out on the internet, only telling half the story. She's only said how were foster kids and grew up with junkie biological parents. And I am sorry that this is causing problem for you too. I never intended for this to affect you as well." I rushed out, looking down at the table so I didn't have to see their face morph.

"How did Mads find out?" They breathed out after a long few minutes of silence.

"I d-don't. I don't know how she found out. I'm still trying to piece it all togethe-"

"She's disrespecting MY parents on the internet and the best you can give me is 'I don't know'?" They questioned.

"I know. It's pathetic. I'm so sorry Finn- wait where are you going?" I asked watching them get up.

They didn't answer, but hurried out of the room. They accidentally knocked into a busser causing her to drop the empty glass she held. They briefly apologised before hurrying out the restaurant. I followed them, quickly turning back and handing her a hundred dollar bill. I could still see Jaden watching out of the corner of my eye, but I couldn't care less at this point.

"Finn, wait please." I called out to them, stopping them in their tracks.

"Why? Why do you have to ruin everything for me? The world isn't supposed to know about me. I'm not supposed to be out there, that's all you Lizzie. You were made for this, I wasn't. I'm not made to be in the limelight. But you, you can't keep your toxic ass out of trouble can you? You have to start things with everyone you meet. And now, everyone knows about me, everyone knows about our past. And everyone is believing some sick and twisted version about the only people whoever truly loved us." They shouted at me.

"I know. I should've just kept my mouth shut when it came to Mads but I was protecting you. I'd happily sit there and allow her to drag my name through the mud, but not yours."

"Yeah? Well now she's dragging both our names through the mud." They shot right back.

"Finn. I'm sorry, it was an accident." I tried, grabbing their arm to stop them walking off.

"This is all your fucking fault Lizzie. I hate you." They spat at me. They flung their arm free of me and walked off.

I felt my heart break immediately as I watched them walk off. I dropped to my knees and endlessly started sobbing. I could hear someone waking up behind me on the gravel. They bent down next to me, and I could tell right away who it was. I turned around and latched onto him, making him fall back and me fall on his lap.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and rubbed his hands up and down my back. I sobbed into his shoulder for a few minutes before trying to get up. His grip on me got tighter, almost as if he was forbidding me to get up.

"Let me go." I struggled against his grip.

"No. You can't run after them." He stated, easing his grip a little so he didn't hurt me.

"They're my little brother Jaden. I need to make sure they're okay. I don't want anything to happen." I explained as I still tried to push away from him.

"Going after them won't do anything good for either of you. You need to make sure you're okay before you make sure they're okay." He replied.

"I am okay." I grunted as I finally managed to break out of his grip, but I didn't get very far due to his grip on my wrist. "Let me fucking go." I gritted through my teeth, trying to pry his hand off me.

"Liza, you aren't okay with this. Just take a fucking minute and let your emotions settle. It's dumb to go into a house fire with a gasoline suit. That's exactly what you're doing." I rolled my eyes at his dumb analogy.

"The fuck is that supposed to mean. I'm going after my brother, not committing suicide." I spat.

"What I mean is: you can't go after Finn to calm their emotions from going haywire, when yours already are. It's not going to work and is just going to make things worse." He explained.

"I am fine. I don't need to stop and wait to collect my feelings. I need to find Finn. Just fuck off back to your friends and leave me to do what I need to do. Alright?" I mumbled sarcastically as I walked off from him.

"Don't say I didn't warn you." He called out before his footsteps were heard going back to the restaurant.

I rolled my eyes at his cockiness and continued walking off. If I was Finn, where would I go? I quickly pulled my phone out to message someone.

Is Finn with you? Or have
they messaged you?

Yeah, they're on their
way here now. Why?

Just don't let them leave
when they get to you.
Something happened and they
aren't really dealing with it
properly.

Got ya. Don't worry I
won't let them leave.

Thanks. I owe you one. :)

I put my phone back in my pocket and made my way back to the restaurant. I saw through the glass that Jaden was watching me, with a smug look on his face. I smiled back smugly and flipped him off, getting into my car, and driving off in the direction I need to go.
