When we got to the top of the boat, Jaden immediately started to make his way over to where we left Liza. I grabbed us both a towel so we didn't get the cushions wet. I was walking a little behind him, but I could still hear what he was doing. Which is why I very clearly heard when he shouted at someone.

"What the fuck man, get away from her." He shouted, picking up his pace from a slow walk to a slight run.

I also picked up my pace and rounded the corner just as a door to the main cabin had shut. I didn't see anyone else other than Jaden and a sleeping Liza. Her chest was white, meaning someone had tried to put sun cream on her before Jaden stopped them. I watched as he walked over and grabbed a couple of tissues, trying to drag excess product off her chest and rubbing the rest in lightly with his hands.

"What the fuck happened?" I asked, walking over and passing him a towel so he could dry off.

"Some guy was rubbing her skin and trying to touch her. He was going to try and grab her boobs just before I got here." He explained, siting down next to Liza.

Almost immediately she moved herself so she was laying down, cuddling up to his thighs. She wrapped her arms and then and rested her head on her arms. She's already grown attached to him.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked, bringing me out of my thought bubble.

"She knew it was you sat down next to her almost instantly means she's attached to you. She recognised who you were even in her sleep, it's something she only ever did with Marley." I explained, watching as he looked down at her.

"Ok? What am I supposed to do with this information, I don't follow." He asked.

"Don't you see it? She only ever did this with Marley. She only ever did it with people she loves on a different scale to the way she love me or Colson or dad." I continued.

"I don't think she loves me like that." He denied, reacting to her when she moved slightly and gripped onto him tighter.

"You may not see it now, but she loves you. More than you could know." I didn't give him time to argue with me because I ran over to the railing and flipped off the boat, back into the water.

I woke up to the smell of smoke and someone's hand rubbing through my hair. My first thought was to panic, I'm not sure whether it was because someone I was unsure of was touching me or if it was because of the smoke. But that thought soon died away when I recognised the distinct smell of Jaden.

I turned my head to see him sat there, absentmindedly running his hands through my hair with a cigarette hung loosely between his lips. That's the smell of smoke. I reached my hand up and took the cigarette from his lips, bringing it to my own and taking a drag from it.

"Excuse me? That's a bit rude, don't you think?" He asked, taking his cigarette back and flicking the growing ash off the railing.

"Sharing is caring my- why is my chest wet?" I questioned, feeling a weird sensation on my chest as I sat up.

"You were going to burn if you laid out here any longer without some form of protection. It's just suncream." He explained, taking another drag from the cigarette and blowing the smoke out.

"Who put it on?" I asked, knowing it wasn't him, otherwise he'd straight out say it.

"I did." He answered, but didn't sound to sure of himself.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" I asked, taking one final drag of his cigarette before burning it out on the deck.

"No? I put the suncream on you. You were going to burn and I didn't want that happening because then you'd complain about how you can't wear anything because it hurts. Was just worth the little hassle of putting it on you and staying up here." He explained, still making me skeptical.

"Okay." I shrugged, dropping the conversation because I know he wasn't going to tell me.

"Really? You're gonna let it go, just like that?" He questioned, with a surprised look on his face.

"Yeah. Unless there is something I should be arguing you for." I challenged.

His eyes narrowed at me, but I could see his Adam's apple bob when he swallowed. He knows I know something, he's just not letting on.

"Nope. There's nothing that needs to be argued for." He replied. Liar.

I still decided not to push him further on it, because knowing myself, I'd take it too far and we'd both end up screaming at each other. He may not be like that but I have a way of making people act against their normal selves.

I laid my head on his shoulder and my legs were draped over the top of his. He automatically placed his hand on my thigh and started drawing small circles with his thumb. My elbow rested between his shoulder blades as my hand came up to play with his hair.

We were sat there like that for around twenty minutes before everyone else came back up. They had all sat back down where they were before and it wasn't long before the wait staff brought out food for us.

The rest of the night was just spent mildly drinking and laughing with one another before the captain Travis had hired so he didn't have to worry about piloting came out to tell us we needed to head back. The sky had turned a mix of reds, pinks, oranges, yellows and purples, and it was all just so peaceful.

Jaden had seemed quite on edge when all the staff had lined up near the exit of the boat. He tried to make sure that he was always between me and the workers, and specifically made sure he was walking right behind me when we turned our backs to them.
